Happy Wednesday …

I went to my community cafe today with a friend. It’s a special place. You can pay forward and pre-buy a coffee or a waffle for someone who is in need. It’s a place to go if you are feeling alone. We chatted to a lovely gentleman there alone with his dog for ages. He started to show pictures of his dog as a puppy. It was lovely. He left with a smile. I had my usual, a savoury waffle with avocado, hummus, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes and salad. It was yummy.

As we went to leave I was compelled to finish off a picture chalked on a blackboard by a child. I put a smiley face on the sun, with more rays … and a crescent moon. It made me smile, and bought that inner child out in me. When I had finished, I looked up … and people were watching me, and they were smiling too.

Happy Wednesday Witches, wanderers, and wild ones,

Today I was reminded of a speech given by Ellen’s Chancellor at her graduation ceremonies.

I felt it was time to share a small piece with you again.

Time is fleeting, it goes in the blink of an eye. So, drink life in and try not to waste it. Pay close attention to the details of all your experiences, the minute as well as the big. Notice these, in fact, more. Keep going, don’t give up. There will be challenges along the way; you might get thrown off course, but honestly, it’s okay. As Banksy said, “Winners are not those who never fail, but those who do not quit”. Make interesting mistakes, break the rules, leave the world a more interesting place for you being there. Be bold, be kind, and be curious.

Thank you Dawn. Your university team inspired my fabulous daughter to create this magazine five years ago, and it’s still going strong!

Lammas (Lughnasadh) blessings for those who observe them.

With the coming of August, we can celebrate the fruits of our spring and summer efforts; gathering harvest berries, corn, and other gifts from the earth.

Derived from the Celtic mythology of Lugh, a Sun god. A festival time to bake bread, celebrate with your kin. Give thanks to Mother Earth for all that she brings, and a time to express our thanks and gratitude for all that we are grateful for.

If you choose to honour a grain and harvest goddess at this time, be sure to thank them by name and leave them a gift.

I personally find 30 minutes every morning helps me start my day; filling me with positivity, energy, and a little bit of magick.

Try to take time out this summer to do your yoga outside in nature, it truly lifts the soul.

Happy summer time, witches, wanderers, and wild ones.

This is the perfect time of year to harvest your lavender. It has the most beautiful scent. It encourages relaxation and sleep. It is associated with peace, harmony, tranquility, love, and healing. Often used for sleeping conditions.

Amethyst is the most beautiful crystal. It is the stone of spirituality and contentment, used for stability, inner peace and strength. It is particularly useful to help calm the mind, reduce stress and strengthens the immune system, amongst other things.

When combined together, what a perfect combination. Isn’t nature magickal!
