these are the songs of (but not restricted to) the 90s and early 200s (pronounced the "two thous" a la fabolous), a time before ipods were really a ‘thing’ and nothing about youtube was ‘viral,' the beginning of the end of an age when radio was the primary way we got to hear new tunes. this is a show for all y'all who found yourselves mesmerized by the whispered su

ltriness of mariah’s vocals, and quietly singing along to usher, confessing an affair with a woman he barely even knew (something we couldn’t relate to back then but hey – he made the risks of the ‘one night stand’ ). this was the soundtrack to a midnight drive around the city, and the friend that stays up with you into the early hours of the morning while you worked on that stupid class project (read: edited your AIM profile til you fit all ur grls names in plus the essential &;hearts and lyrics; let me know if i 4got u!!!). these songs kept it real when things were gettin outta whack, and were the wise best friends who told you that “i’m your girl, you’re my girl, we’re your girls, and don’t you know that we love you?” when you were at your worst.
