Welcome to My Favourite Elliott Smith Song
As an Elliott Smith fan, it’s always been amazing to hear just how strong a connection people have had with his music. For some it may have been that he helped them through a particularly tough time, for others he’s been there for them almost every day.
It seemed strange that this guy, who most of us were never lucky enough to meet, has given so much but hasn’t really had anything in return. So, in October last year, I began this small tribute to Elliott Smith. To help (in an admittedly very limited capacity) keep his legacy alive and to give something back.
Since then, it’s been amazing hearing lots of different people - all of whom have achieved so much in their own fields - say how big an impact Elliott Smith has had on their lives. And it’s been great hearing from listeners around the world talk about how much his music means to them.
As time has gone on, the production team has literally doubled in size with the addition of Elizabeth Withstandley as a co-producer. Elizabeth is based in Los Angeles (while I’m in London), so having her on board has meant we can do more in-person interviews and more photo shoots in front of the Figure 8 mural (check out our Instagram).
Anyway, I hope you like our show. Do feel free to get in touch if you have any questions, want to chat about Elliott or have suggestions for people to take part.
