Remote recording for The Jeanne Gregg Band tonight at The Old World Deli in Corvallis. The OWD, in addition to having great live sound and lights, is set up to make high quality live multi-track as easy as it can be. Kudos to Waylon and his crew for creating such a great space.

Spent the day re-organizing the big ISO room, aka the piano room today. Should make it easier to mic the piano, and easier to use the room as an iso booth on non-piano sessions. And generally improving the flow of the room.

Spent the last few days replacing batteries and generally fixing up this old beast, now it’s back in action! The equivalent of 4 Yamaha DX7’s in one monolithic block (expandable to 8 with extra modules), behold the mighty Yamaha TX-416! Full of sparkly FM goodness! Anybody wanna record an 80’s cop show soundtrack?

Did a vocal mic shootout at the studio today, Shure SM7 vs Warm WA87ii vs Warm WA47. For this project the WA47 was the winner, but any one of the three would have sounded fantastic.
