URGENT MEESAGE:

**WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7AM SATURDAY**

21/12/2022

Good morning!

A Major Winter Storm will impact the area tomorrow and last through Friday. Snow Amounts of 3-7” are likely across our area. Wind Chill values will be 30 below Zero, this can cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes. Wind Gusts of 60MPH with sustained winds of 35MPH will create BLIZZARD CONDITIONS Friday. This is a very dangerous storm system that is going to impact us, today is your last day to prepare for this event. It will start as Rain tomorrow before transitioning to snow Thursday PM.

We will have another update out later today regarding updated information.

A Blizzard Warning will likely be issued by Thursday, should the system hold its track it has as of right now.

21/12/2022

Good Evening!

A Major Winter Storm is expected to impact the area starting Thursday as Rain, before transitioning to a full snow event Thursday PM. This snow will last through the day Friday, Heavy Snow accumulations are expected due to this.

We are expecting 2-4” for much of Southern IN, 4-7” for Central IN, and 6-11” for Northern IN. For our area particularly, expect between 5-9” of snow.

This will be a catastrophic storm for us, major winds, with gusts up to 60MPH are expected for the area, in addition, Wind Chills up to -35 are LIKELY through Saturday. With these impacts, travel will be nearly impossible, and it will be way to Cold to even be outside. Frostbite can occur in as little as 5-10MIN with temperatures like these!

Prepare now for this snow and wind event, Travel will become impossible Friday, we expect all counties on the north side of Indiana to go on a CODE RED travel status, which in short terms means that travel is banned unless permission or grant to do so.

A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect until Saturday, however we expect this to turn into a WINTER STORM WARNING by tomorrow evening, and likely will even turn into a Blizzard Warning by Thursday.

We will continue to monitor and post updates daily. These amounts will also change through the night, we will know a for sure amount by tomorrow evening.

Even a slight shift in storm track can dramatically change snow totals by inches upon inches, so it’s important to keep that in mind.

20/12/2022

**WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT**

**Blizzard Warning expected to be issued by Thursday**

Tuesday afternoon update: We continue to monitor this upcoming winter storm that is expected to impact us. Dangerously cold wind chills, extreme winds, and heavy snow will result in difficult to impossible travel conditions across the area Friday.

Even if this storm track takes a “northern” track more, that means less snow for us, however, we would still likely get a couple inches, and with a couple inches of snow and the winds we are supposed to get, that would easily create white out conditions and very difficult travel.

We recommend keeping an eye on our page, we will have a snowfall total update out this evening.

20/12/2022

Good morning!

A WINTER STORM WATCH is in effect due to the major winter storm that is going to impact Indiana starting Thursday and continuing into Friday evening. Snowfall amounts are still uncertain but we will get a way better idea by later this evening. We will make a separate post this evening with the amounts expected, and all the impacts.

We expect this WATCH to be turned into a WARNING and potentially into a BLIZZARD warning. Sustained Winds of 30MPH are expected Thursday into Friday, with gusts up to 60MPH possible! This will cause catastrophic blowing and drifting snow, complete white out conditions, and impossible travel. We advise everyone to stay home Friday as it will be very difficult, if not impossible to travel via car.

Also with these snow totals and the wind, wind chills are going to be a major concern as well. -25 temperatures are expected, these are very cold temperatures and can cause frost bite in as little as 20 MIN! Prepare now for this event.

We will post another update later today.

19/12/2022

Good morning!

Confidence continues to increase that a major winter storm will impact the area Thursday-Friday, along with very windy conditions. The heavy snow combined with the extreme wind chill will result in BLIZZARD conditions, and wind chills up to -20 below zero. This storm is not a joke and we want everyone to take it into accountability should this storm hold it’s track it has. If so, we are expecting over a foot of snow.

Exact track and amounts is still uncertain but we should know more by tomorrow evening, as of this time, the storm will be formed and moving across the country.
