The greatest 8 minutes of my life were when I played on stage with the rhythm section of Devo. That magical moment, among many others, is now preserved on vinyl and cd.

The "Devoted" 12" mini- lp and cd contains the epic version of "Beautiful World" as played by David Kendrick, myself, and Gerald V. Casale. Not only that, it documents the first performance in over 40 years by DEVO founding members Bob Lewis and Gerald V. Casale.

You also get hot playing by members of The Fantastic Plastics, Spudboys, Fight Milk, Detention, Poopy Necroponde, and many favorites from the Devotional fan gathering.

The 12" is pressed on beautiful blue vinyl. It is limited to 255 copies and comes in a deluxe gatefold sleeve. The CD is limited to 200 copies and is packaged in a mini replica of the 12" cover.

The whole thing is produced by little ol' me, Malcolm Tent. I personally remixed and remastered the audio to give you a super duper listening experience.

All proceeds from sales of the LP and CD will be re- invested into the Devotional. The goal is to help bring all discerning Devo fanatics the most enjoyable fan experience possible.

Here's what's on it:
Auto Modown/ Beehive/ Beautiful World- performed by Gerald V. Casale, founding Devo member Bob Lewis, and longtime Devo drummer David Kendrick. They are ably supported by members of the Spudboys, the Devotional's long serving Devo tribute band.

Race Of Doom/ Gut Feeling/ Gates of Steel- played by an all star cast of Devotional musicians that you know and love, with special guest David Kendrick on the last two songs.

Links to order are in the comments. You can also get the 12" and cd direct from me at a lower price. Feel free to message me for details.

If you love unique and unusual music, I have 2 new releases for you!

At long last, Gary Forney's albums are available on cd, cassette, download, and 8 track (no lie). (You also might know his work as The Iowa Mountain Tour)

Featured prominently in the film "Off The Charts" and subject of an upcoming documentary, Gary is the real deal. Songwriter, inventor, family man, and singular musician, he does it all.

Every song is a Gary Forney original. The recordings were mostly made by noted song poem artists, as seen in "Off The Charts." Others are performed by Gary himself. The results are one of a kind and sublime.

Whether you're a fan of song poems, original performers, or both, "An Ordinary Life" and "Chicken Insurrection" are sure to float your boat.

Brand new on my fabulous label TPOS Records: Tim Holehouse "Year" and Pissy Chrissy "Mind Cavity Seepage".

Tim is a globe trotting troubadour in the truest sense. He's played everywhere, usually just him and his guitar. His voice has the grit; his playing has the drive. He's been compared to Tom Waits. I can see that, but Tim is a whole other thing. His roots are in country blues and his lyrics are drawn from his real life experiences, both as a human being and as an itinerant guitar slinger.

I've toured a lot with Tim and I love his stuff. That's why I'm very happy to co- release his new album "Year". Check out the links in the comments below.

Pissy Chrissy hails from the backwater wilds of North Carolina. As her name implies, she is pi**ed off! It doesn't matter what about. She's got a lot. This is raw talent laid bare for all to hear in the 21st century. And it rocks. (I suppose I should mention that I wrote the music for 8 of the 11 songs on this angry mini album. But the songs I don't contribute to are great! Otherwise they would not be on TPOS.)

Please give these two excellent artists a listen. And if you feel so inclined, support them by purchasing their product, either on physical media or download. They (and I) will 100% appreciate it.

Look for lots more in 2024 on TPOS Records. As the Carpenters once warbled, we've only just begun!

40 years ago today, my humble punk rock band walked into a funky living room in Coconut Grove, Florida. We had with us:

-a 3/4 scale Fender bass knockoff, made in Korea
-a homemade bass cabinet, cobbled together from some lumber and a Radio Shack speaker
-a cheap made in Japan electric guitar
-a generic no name drum kit
-an ancient consumer market reel to reel tape recorder, salvaged from a long forgotten storage closet at the University Of Miami
-an even more ancient reel of cheap tape salvaged from the same closet

Waiting for us was our drummer's older brother. He was hung over from the previous night's festivities, but he'd promised that he would record us. He was good as his word and was ready with his mixing board and some microphones.

Our mission was to make a record. We wanted one so we'd have an easier time scoring gigs in South Florida. As usual, we didn't know what we were doing. We just grabbed whatever and whoever we had close at hand and got the job done.

We set up our frowzy gear and ran through the 3 songs we could play the most competently: "Blood Slut", "My Old Man", and "My God Can Beat Up Your God". We played each one repeatedly until we got a decent version of each.

Later we picked through all the different takes and chose the best one of each. Then, using another old consumer model tape deck, dubbed those onto another ancient reel of salvaged tape. We took that reel to the only pressing plant in Hialeah and a few months later had our first record in hand: "Blood Slut" by Broken Talent.

That was TPOS 001, the very first release on my label. I'm now up to TPOS 258. That's a pretty good run for independent record label. And it all started in a living room on New Years Day, 1984.

Thank you everyone for helping me to keep it going all this time! It's been a long strange trip and I don't intend for it to end any time soon.

I am delighted to announce the release of Tiny Tim "Prisoner Of Love" on TPOS.

Recorded in the early 90's, Tiny described this album as the best he ever did. All of the songs were originally recorded by his musical hero, Russ Columbo, and Tiny puts everything he has into the performance. The music is supplied by a very skilled and tastefully arranged small orchestra. Proof positive that Tiny Tim was far more than just a novelty act.

"Prisoner Of Love" is available on "tulip red", "cheap suit grey", and "big hit gold" vinyl. Includes liner notes by Mark Robinson, the original producer of the album.

Personally, I love this record. And if you want to relive the glories of the 1920's crooners, you will too. Links to Discogs and Ebay are in the comments below. Or contact me directly. Here's to a great new release from the Eternal Troubadour himself!

OUT NOW ON TPOS: GG Allin And The Criminal Quartet "Carnival Of Excess" second pressing!

GG Allin had a country music streak a mile wide. On this album you can hear the man himself backed by a hot acoustic string band. The recording is amongst the best he ever made. Professional studio engineering and mixing are in full effect.

Lyrically, this is one of GG's most adventurous, honest, and poetic albums. It's also gritty, raw, and real- just as he was. Before he died, he expressed his complete satisfaction with the way "Carnival of Excess" came out. There's even a special cameo from Tiny Tim!

Released in cooperation with PONK Media, this is the legitimate, authorized version of "Carnival Of Excess" on 12" vinyl. Get it direct from me, from Discogs, or from Ebay. Links are posted in the comments below.

P.S. 1000 were pressed on black vinyl
