I-77 Resurfacing to Kick Off in Iredell County tonight.
A project to improve 12 miles of Interstate 77 in Iredell County starts Sunday night, weather permitting. A $21.4 million contract was earned this summer by Tennessee contractor Maymead Inc. to resurface the highway from exit 36 (N.C. 150) to the south of exit 49 (U.S. 70/Salisbury Rd.)

To complete the work safely, lane closures will be permitted from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday – Thursday nights over the next several months between mile markers 37-45. The roadway will be patched where needed, then two inches of asphalt surface course will be added throughout most of the area.
