Red Rooster Party on WHUS Red Rooster Party presents early American recorded music favoring the roots of country & bluegrass, plus Western music. It is at WHUS Storrs CT 91.7 FM.

Red Rooster Party is an American roots program presenting the real roots of recorded American music going back to the early 20th century and carrying on through the 1950s and 1960s. Early hillbilly folk recordings, pre-country, pre-bluegrass stringbands are typical for the show. One hour of the show is devoted to Joe Bussard's Country Classics (and Hot Town Jazz Classics once per month). The show

is hosted by Jim Beaver and sometimes Marti Harmon, native North Carolinians living in Connecticut, and airs on WHUS-FM, the radio station of the University of Connecticut in Storrs CT, on Sunday afternoons 2-4 pm ET. Jim and Marti announced in the spring of 2017 that they will be moving back to North Carolina. As as result, the last Red Rooster Party aired on WHUS May 28, 2017. If Jim and Marti find a radio home in North Carolina, it is possible the show will resume in the future. We will let you know. Until then, the 84 shows that Joe Bussard produced for Red Rooster Party can be heard on http://Soundcloud.com by searching on "Joe Bussard WHUS"
