Its Givin Genius in the Makin'!! 14-year-old Naya Ellis created an innovative watch to detect strokes called 'Wing Itt.'

The NOLA based 9th grader developed Wing Itt as a STEM Fellow--where students from grades K-12 can create and develop science, math and tech projects-- at John F Kennedy High School.

The watch works by monitoring nerve impulses and heartbeats before showing signs of droopy face and slurred.

"I want to do something I’m interested in, that will also change the world,” Ellis said.

She is one step closer after being selected to compete in the final round of the National STEM challenge.

Naya is among 126 STEM champions out of more than 2,500 national applicants.

If you live in Charlotte (as I do and thousands of other NY transplants.) you know rapper Da Baby makes frequent surprise pop ups in Queen city to greet fans and give out cash.

Monday was no different for the native son.

Da Baby surprised students at Garinger High School by popping up at a school assembly.

“I suggest that you cherish your last two months of high school and being a child … I love y’all, appreciate y’all. I’m right around the corner anytime you need me,” he said before singing his hit ‘ROCKSTAR,’ reports Charlotte Observer.

Journalist, mom and former “The Talk” co-host Elaine Welteroth launched a fund to make women’s lives a year round priority .

Elaine Welteroth created birthFUND–its mission is to fund midwifery services for families unable to afford it–as “a safety net of resources for families across the country to expand immediate access to quality, life-saving maternal health care,” she writes on Instagram.

The birthFUND was kicked off by a fundraiser and Elaine saw the need that families had.

Mr Always on Time made it count for real y’all. Rapper Ja Rule made good on his promise in January to open a primary school in eastern Ghana.

Ja Rule broke ground on a “six classroom block” at Nuaso Anglican Basic School on April 10th alongside his wife, Aisha and partner Pencils of Promise (PoP); a charity to advance global education.

The school will host kindergarten through sixth grade students in Nuaso community. The goal is to fill the gaps of poor, makeshift classrooms in the area.

Good Lord There's a Fire!!?! Nola Bus driver Kia Rousseve is hands down our for saving 9 children from a burning bus on March 13th.

Our super hero was on her fifth stop when the cheese bus started to lose juice.

'The bus started acting crazy, started jerking, and going real real slow,' the hero told Good Morning America.

After listening to her intuition she pulled over. A passerby told her flames were coming from under the bus.

Kia rushed the 9 kids--ranging from kindergarten to 8th graders--off the bus and ran up the street. It was just in the nick of time because the bus exploded soon after.

'We could have lost our lives, that's what I've been thinking about,' Rousseve said.

'Every time I look at the picture, it's like wow, my seat was the first thing that caught on fire.'

Sheesh! Talk about a close call!

Kia's employer dubbed her 'courage on heels' for the merciful save.

'I was just glad I was being a hero to the kids and being a hero to myself, and getting them off the bus real quickly.'

Can y’all believe it has been four years since Chadwick Boseman passed away?

It’s unreal how fast that time has gone. Yet, for Chadwick Boseman’s wife Simone Ledward Boseman it’s probably like yesterday.

All the more reason she’s rallying for more research, funding and treatment options for colorectal cancer prevention.

To usher in National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Boseman joined advocates on the National Mall in DC–lined with over 27,400 blue flags to represent the number of people that will be diagnosed with the disease– on Monday to urge people to test for colon cancer.

“I’m sorry that cancer was a part of your story, I’m sorry that it’s a part of mine,” Ledward Boseman told a crowd of dozens.

Chadwick Boseman died of colorectal cancer in August 2020. He was only 43.

Shaq met with Bolden and soon after had three big boxes delivered to Bolden.

“It’s better than Christmas morning. Santa didn’t send this, Shaq did,” Neal said.

The boxes were filled with new clothes and shoes. Shaquille O’Neal even pulled ‘fits from his own closet.

If this past year has taught me anything, it’s that women are unbreakable. We are unstoppable and our gentle exterior may show we come in peace, but our tenacity, strength and smarts most certainly exude that we. mean. bizness.

We get s**t done that no one (*cough* men *cough*) else want to handle. Or better yet don’t know how to manage. Not us. We can study for that midterm and feed our newborn. Cook dinner and clean the house. Eff an apron, where is our cape?

We most certainly need one today because…drum roll please…it’s International Woman’s Day.

On this day we tip our hat to all the 3.96 billion women (thanks Alexi…ok, stop laughing) around the planet, helping to make this world a safer more worthwhile place.

To truly accomplish this goal, we need a favor from the fellas.
