Beginning his music career at a young age, Leon started off playing drums initially but soon took on piano, guitar and a handfull of other instruments. Playing drums in local bands including, 'The Lone Rangers', 'The Kicks' and originals band, 'Cornerstone', kept him busy and gave him an opportunity to develop and perform his own style of songwriting. Touring NZ twice with Cornerstone and later with two other local singer/songwriters, Craig Allott and Cheryl Anderson, was integral in strengthening Leon's voice and performing abilities.
Leon recieved local acknowledgement with several awards including Drummer of the Year twice, Special Achievement with Cornerstone and Album of the Year for his first record, 'Redefine'.
Continuing to write and record his own music and jumping at any opportunity to produce and perform for other artists, has nourished his desire for music and help develop important musical relationships.
Leon currently plays bass in local party band 'The Yardmen' and has another album of original songs in the pipeline and hopes to release it later this year.
