The name J’Kan was inspired by the country of origin, Jamaica. It was so intended to keep the roots of the label alive wherever the works of enterprise may venture. s professionalism in every production seriously. JKAN Music and Management is focused on Artist Management, Production Marketing, General Management, and Music production. J’Kan was officially launched in August 2010 by a Mark Lawrence who over time had already gained experience working in the entertainment business as a party investor and former producer of the X-Family Entertainment group. In October 2011 J’Kan signed its first Dancehall artist, Jason ‘JJ Staynless’ Hillman and is still currently signed to the label. While working with ‘JJ Staynless’ in doing a few recordings at the popularly known Dreday Studio, the label developed a close relationship with Andre Ennis, CEO of Dreday Productions. The company since 2010 has already successfully recorded and released its first official juggling known as the "Radio Riddim". It is a five tract compilation featuring artist such as Delus, Hyah Slyce, Zagga and Jkan's JJ STaynless ft J-Capri. During the course of 2012 J’Kan adopted a few other members allowing itself a team of executive directors. This team consists of experienced professionals who have had numerous experiences within the field of entertainment. This experience has been channeled in the assistant of the careers of Jedi's ‘Jedani’, Oufah's rising sensation ‘Omi’, ‘Kim Nain’ and re-birth of ‘Ras Penco’. The work ethics of this company has strengthened the courage of clients over the years. These clients believe in working hand in hand with the production so as to create a positive influence in the heart of entertainment.
