Happy Labor Day from Foundation Blue Media as we champion the rights of workers across our nation!
Foundation Blue Media is proud to support the National Education Association Staff Union on the picket line as they fight to end the staff lockout. We had a great time handing out Rita's to union members who have been on the picket line under the summer heat for the last six weeks. It is time for the lockout to end. Anti-union tactics have no place in the labor movement. NEA Staff Union - NEASO

Reproductive healthcare must be accessible to all. Today, on the second anniversary of the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, we will not cease in our fight for reproductive freedom for all Americans.
On Juneteenth, we celebrate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. As we remember our nation’s history today, we must continue to uplift Black voices in our community.
Happy Father’s Day from Foundation Blue Media!
No one at Foundation Blue Media has ever asked anyone to specifically donate to a candidate campaign before this email, nor have we ever personally requested any of our personal networks to donate to a specific candidate.
But enough is enough.
This race is too important.
Please donate to Lauren Ashley Simmons here in support of her race in the Democratic Primary Run-Off for Texas House of Representatives District 146.

Lauren Ashley Simmons is running to represent District 146 in the Texas House of Representatives. Ms. Simmons is a mother, union organizer, and openly q***r candidate.
Our colleague, Lily Adams, serves on the Victory Fund Campaign Board. Ms. Simmons is designated as a spotlight candidate by the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund.
Her opponent, Shawn Thierry, not only voted with Republicans on numerous anti–LGBTQ+ bills in the last session, she chose to take a leadership role in doing so.
To say that Shawn Thierry shouldn’t be in the Texas House is an understatement. Don’t believe us? Here’s a paragraph from the Houston Chronicle's endorsement of Lauren Ashley Simmons:
After a combative and petty performance that was beyond the debating showmanship we typically see, Thierry again interrupted Simmons during what was supposed to be her closing statement. Simmons, 36, was noting that she had earned the support of three of Thierry’s colleagues. “The gay ones,” Thierry interjected sharply.
Lauren Ashley Simmons won a plurality of votes in the Democratic primary, but not enough to avoid a Democratic primary run-off against Shawn Thierry. Lauren still needs our help to secure her win.

Today is a day of unity as we mourn as a nation. The attacks of 9/11 were meant to divide us, and today we defy them by joining together as patriots. To the victims, first responders, and families, we will remember you always.
On this Labor Day, especially amid the SAG-AFTRA strike, we honor the resilience, dedication, and ingenuity of American workers and strikers. Our economy thrives when every worker is empowered and compensated fairly. Let's continue working together for fair wages, safe workplaces, and a brighter future for all.
Today, it is easy to take for granted. While the 19th amendment passed in 1920, it has been less than 60 years since ALL women were guaranteed the right to vote. It is thanks to generations of women working together to that we enjoy the rights we have today.

State Rep. Justin Jones delivered a powerful address yesterday in defiance of the Tennessee legislature's refusal to protect its constituents from gun violence. He, along with Rep. Justin Pearson were expelled while Rep. Gloria Johnson was spared by a one-vote margin. This is "a move the chamber has used only a handful times since the Civil War" according to AP News, and a demonstration of the state's unwillingness to participate in representative democracy. Rep. Jones said, "It is in that spirit of speaking for my constituents, of being a representative of the people that I approached the well on last Thursday, breaking a house rule, but exercising moral obedience to my constitutional responsibility." #freethetennesseethree
We are witnessing what may be the first of many extreme legislative attacks against the LGBTQ+ community. Tennessee has passed legislation to restrict drag performances and banning gender affirming care. Despite what advocates might claim, these policies are not intended to protect children. These are dangerous, discriminatory measures used to further marginalize LGBTQ+ people and restrict what is in many cases life saving care. #transcareishealthcare
