Daniel Maramba National High School (DMNHS) launched its 60-day School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) on Oct 16 at the Shahani Gym.

SBFPโ€™s theme โ€œTalino at Gilas, Tiyak Lalabas, Panalo ang Batang may Sapat na Gatas,โ€ aimed to benefit 118 students with good nutrition.

Mrs. Cresencia Bulatao, SBFP coordinator, oriented the learners that the feeding program will be done every Tuesday to Thursday for 60 days in their respective classroom.

Moreover, Mr. Ralph Carlo P. Ramos, DMNHSโ€™ batch 2012 salutatorian and currently Regional Sales Planning Manager of Nestle Philippines joined the orientation program and donated snacks for the learners.

โ€œWhen I saw the theme, two words immediately struck me, talino at gilas (intelligence and excellence)โ€ฆ I just want to expound on these two points and add one more, puso (heart),โ€ Mr. Ramos said.

"Having heart means having courage, having heart means having passion, and having heart means you have the willpower to strive for your goals in life," he added.

This year's municipal meet main event battle of the men's volleyball category ignites tension as Daniel Maramba National High School (DMNHS) upsets Maticmatic National High School (MNHS) in a 3-set thriller at Banaoang Central School, on friday, (25-21, 23-25, 23-25).

DMNHS came up strong with as much as a 3-point lead against MNHS but was then chased by MNHS' senior, Berniel Abarientos, and Tom John Ventayen, who both contributed to an 8-2 run ensued by unforced errors of DMNHS, resulting in a 25-21 end.

Meanwhile, the second set remains in a viable position as MNHS pulls a 4-0 run, but DMNHS immediately took advantage of an unforced error and heaved a 9-3 run of their own.

The tension began to rise as DMNHS middle blockers Cleve Jasmin and Cedrick Macanlalay went on to close down MNHS' team captain, John Paul Gabejan, and Johnrey Buscas, resulting in another 3 consecutive unforced errors by MNHS.

In addition, the other 4-1 run led by DMNHS was halted due to a wrong call of the second referee, who called an antenna touch but was altered by the first referee, resulting in a deadball.

Down the stretch, another miscall against MNHS was called, and a referee ruled a ball touch, opposing the first referee's decision, meeting the ire of the MNHS crowd.

Moreover, after the controversial ruling, Gabejan was called by the first referee and was told to calm his teammates outside who're irate; the call caused MNHS to commit 3 consecutive unforced errors, tying the match with one set apiece.

Meanwhile, unscouted players Jasmin and Mark Taluban left MNHS' offense at a hard time as they denied multiple attempts by Gabejan and Ventayen with a 5-0 block count raised by DMNHS.

DMNHS sprint away from MNHS with a 6-point lead but are then chased by MNHS, who install a 7-1 run, tying the match at all 20 that extends to 23-23.

DMNHS went on to win the deciding set with the capacity crowd, causing high tension and pushing MNHS to commit back-to-back unforced errors to close down the match, 25-23.

Moreover, the leading scorer, Cervantes, earned 18 points built on 16 attacks, 1 ace, and 1 block, as followed by Abarientos with 17 points, John Paul Pasaoa with 13, and Ventayen with 11 points.

Cervantes then gave his advice to the belittled ones, "Just always believe in your own abilities. Don't pay attention to those people who will lower your confidence, and always do your best when playing," he said.

Furthermore, the DMNHS men's volleyball team, along with victorious athletes from Sta. Barbara is set to return to the School Division Office 1 Pangasinan Athletics Association (SDO1-PAA) meet.

Daniel Maramba National High School (DMNHS) remains indomitable as it surpassed its output of 17 golds in various sports events at last year's District Meet with a record-breaking 23 golds heaved against Tuliao National High School (TNHS).

The tally doesn't include the advancement of different sport events that won via default, namely, the men's and women's categories for Taekwondo and Sepak Takraw, and the women's category for Table Tennis.

Meanwhile, the Badminton categories contribute a quarter of the total tally with 6, followed by Track and Field with 5, and Chess with 4 gold wins.

In addition, Basketball, Volleyball, and Table Tennis installed 2 golds each, as Long Jump and Throwing logs 1 each; completing the 23-gold tally.

"Of course proud kami na narepresent namin yung school, and naipanalo namin," [of course we're proud that we represented the school and that we won,] Andrei Del Prado, a senior of the men's basketball team, said.

Moreover, "Ito na yung first step namin papunta ng regionals, and hopefully Palarong Pambansa" [this is our first step towards the regionals, and hopefully (to) Palarong Pambansa], he added.

Furthermore, triumphant athletes of District 1 are set to face off with victorious athletes of the opposing district on October 17-18 for the Municipal Meet.

Delayed but was never too late. As a part of the World Teachersโ€™ Day observance, the Daniel Maramba National High School concluded the celebration with fun-filled sports activities, featuring an exciting Gurolympics match with volleyball game for women and basketball game for menโ€™s category at the Shahani Gymnasium on October 11.

It can be recalled that Gurolympics was initially set on October 3, but was postponed due to suspension of classes and inclement weather brought by typhoon Julian. The later date became a more favorable schedule for most of the teachers since the first quarter has lately just ended.

The Gurolympics is considered a testament to recognition and a celebration not just of athleticism, but also of friendship, well-being, and the shared goal of a balanced lifestyle among educators, one that emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, and the pursuit of common goals beyond the school walls.

โ€œFriendly game lang; everyone did their best. Nagkataon lang na pumutok ang laro, at siyempre, dahil na rin sa lakas na ibinigay sa amin ng Panginoon.โ€ [It was just a friendly game; everyone did their best. It just so happened that the game really took off, and of course, it was also due to the strength the Lord gave us.] As remarked by Sir James Salinas, one of the players in basketball category.

Meanwhile, the Gurolympics also embodies the determination and spirit that defines the sportsmanship among the teaching personnel of DMNHS who cherish the importance of camaraderie.

โ€ [My motivation is my love for playing volleyball. Ever since high school, this has been my game, and I've enjoyed it because I got to play again with my teammates during the Municipal Meet.] Added Maโ€™am Joan S. Mones, who also played in the volleyball category.

Therefore, this event should not be just about winning or losing, but about the memories created, the friendships made, and the lessons learned about sportsmanship that binds everyone together.

Furthermore, appreciation is extended to everyone who has made this event enjoyable: our School Principal, Mr. Danny S. Agustin, our Assistant Principal, Mr. Domingo D. Umangay, the Department Heads, and all the teachers, who embody the spirit of the Gurolympics, making the WTD celebration a resounding success.

In 10 years, where do you envision yourself?

The world revolves around a vast question mark, casting a shadow of anxiety about the future. Like young sprouts awaiting the spring, we rely on our dreams as an ideal preview of whatโ€™s to come. Our efforts lay the groundwork for our aspirations, offering an optimistic perspective on our potential. Yet, amid our idealized visions of future achievements, one crucial question lingersโ€”who will nurture our growth?

Within the bustling halls of Daniel Maramba National High School, we find the freshwater spring that nourishes countless dreams every day. Here, we see teachers standing for hours, encouraging students to find their footing, even if it leads to leg cramps. We witness them passionately advocating for students to make their voices heard, even as their own voices grow hoarse. They are our catalysts for growth.

Teachers' roles extend far beyond lecturing, grading, and offering advice. Their discerning eyes seek the potential within us, their loving hearts believe in our abilities, and their dedicated hands mold us into refined versions of ourselves. This guiding light isnโ€™t always gentle; it can deliver tough feedback and strict discipline that unveil harsh truths. This is a profound, often misunderstood form of loveโ€”a steadfast commitment that propels students toward progress and resonates beyond academic success.

Itโ€™s remarkable how teachers transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, making mundane days memorable. Though frequently overlooked and underestimated, their passion and dedication to imparting wisdom remain unwavering. A wise teacher at Daniel Maramba National High School once said, โ€œI can sit here and do nothing, or I can teach you what I know, but DepEd will still be running regardless. And I choose to teach you.โ€ In a world rife with uncertainty, one thing is clear: our teachers will continue to inspire, nurture, and cultivate our growth for years to come.

A total of 39 aspirants showcased their exceptional talents and performance making the stage of the Shahani Gymnasium on fire during the DMNHS Search for Mr. & Ms. Intramurals 2024 on Friday.

The said event was organized to help interested students build their self-esteem, boost their self-confidence, and improve their communicative and social skills.

โ€œI know that everyone has areas where they can grow, and I believe that recognizing those weaknesses, you can take it as motivation and do better next time,โ€ said De Leon in the question and answer portion, who was among the contestants that stand out.

After their fierce competition, Francheska Angel De Leon emerged triumphant as Ms. Intramurals together with Ken Andrew Coroรฑa of 12 STEM-Rankine as Mr. intramurals 2024.

Subsequently, Christian Mark Junatas and Jaria Padilla were announced as first runners-up while Denise Rain V. Domondon and Ket Bulatao were proclaimed as second runners-up.

DMNHS aids SB-SKF's setback

Daniel Maramba National High School (DMNHS) temporarily holds SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) Federation's inter-barangay league as a response to the relocation request of the organization in its Shahani Gymnasium on September 21.

The Orbos Gymnasium of Sta. Barbara, which was the proposed venue for the tournament, was occupied by the registration for national IDs due to miscommunication of schedules; hence, the relocation.

Meanwhile, John Paul Pasaoa, DMNHS' current men's volleyball team captain, said that he's proud and happy to share the school's court with his friends in and out of his team.

Moreover, a total of 14 barangays participated in the 8 games that were held at the venue: 3 games within the women's division and 5 games in the men's division.

Furthermore, the games scheduled for September 22 are expected to return and take place at the Orbos Gymnasium
