Crudely Cut Records is not a traditional label. It is taking what you have, sharing it with your people and making the best of what you have worked for. It is not paying off bloated middle men, or purchasing YouTube hits. It is about progression through a collective of like minded individuals. It is not US, the artists, demeaning THEM, the
audience, when WE have much more in common with those who listen to our music than those in the top down industry who are trying to flog it and charge all of us for the privilege. We need you and we as a movement are more than happy to embrace that. Crudely Cut Records is an ensemble of rappers, producers, graffiti artists, graphic designers, photographers, film makers, deejays, website builders and multimedia specialists who have become jaded by pulling in separate directions and decided to create a collective who can now all travel the same course. It is the culmination of people working hard within their respective crafts and unifying for a common cause, but knowing that the world owes us nothing. It is about keeping each other sharp, being honest with each other for the benefit of all. It is about using the power that we have as a group of individuals in order to further the unit. We are people, all Crudely Cut from the same cloth who are sick of being told that what we do is not acceptable in the mainstream, when the system is failing, when sales are down, when we are being demeaned every day and being told to tone it down or change our sound. We listen only to YOU, because we are you. By embracing that attitude, you can be Crudely Cut too. There are no clean lines in life. There is no cut and dry. We can only do the best we can and hope that we see the end product reach as many people as possible. We are about the artist seeing 100% of the profits for their work, but also passing the savings this framework allows on to those who support us. Crudely Cut Records est. 2012. It’s time we make what we can with what we have… and allow ourselves to be proud of it.
