With the First Amendment, our Founding Fathers intended that Free Speech and Freedom of the Press would serve as an independent voice of the People in the maintenance and control of Government. Without educating the public on the workings of Government, the People would no longer have control -- only the entitled leaders would rule. re not fully aware of the impact such a merger. The end of investigative journalism, the end of political fear towards journalism, the inclusion of media into the folds of politics has resulted in bias non-reporting -- where the media focuses only on approved stories for the role of benefiting a government plan or increasing an audience for ratings and has ceased reporting for the general welfare of the public. See an item on your local or national news that is obvious in its bias? Find a new article with a definitive agenda that doesn't benefit the public's right to know? Don't let the media lose itself in self-created hype. Have expectations of your media. Make the media accountable for itself.
