We have formally launched NABU in Nigeria in partnership with HP.
As part of the launch activities, we unveiled the NABU HP Creative Lab at Sabo Yaba, Lagos. NABU HP Creative Labs are tech-equipped labs where writers and illustrators can work together on-site or remotely to create and publish children's books. The spaces also serve as community spaces for teacher trainings and read aloud activities. This is the 4th Creative Lab that NABU has launched in partnership with HP; Kigali, Miami and the Philippines being first, second and third.
NABU is accelerating literacy through access to mother tongue books as mother tongue books are one of the most cost-effective interventions in increasing literacy.
In Nigeria, we have published 40 Igbo/English, 20 Hausa/English and 20 Yoruba/English free illustrated storybooks. These books can be accessed via the NABU App (iOS and Android) or via the web reader (read.nabu.org).
