Paris Jaramillo & Tay Hernandez, Costume Design: This dynamic duo worked together to bring just the right 80s-ness to our characters — giving each a distinct look that’s true to their personality and time period. Paris & Tay took time to understand the characters of “Sunset” in detail and even created moodboards for each. We’re stoked with the final result and seeing these characters walk off the page. Thank you, Paris & Tay!

Daniel Gatsch, HMU & Prosthetics Assistant, Utility Player: Daniel is a multi-talent who assisted with makeup and prosthetics, took excellent BTS photos, provided security, and more. He always brought humor and sensitivity to every situation. On an indie film set, someone who wears so many hats well — and with such a good attitude — is invaluable. He also hosts trivia on Mondays at Differential Brewing and Tuesdays at Bossfight Brewing. Thank you, Daniel!

Shanna Thibodeaux, HMU & Prosthetics: Shanna brought the horror to our horror movie — her thumbprint is everywhere in “Sunset.” One of our biggest concerns was having frightening and convincing vampires. Those concerns were laid to rest with Shanna’s exceptional work. Her artistry exceeded our vision, giving each vampire a unique and terrifying appearance. She suggested details we hadn’t thought of and handled hair & makeup for all of our actors. Hire her for your next project, and you’ll be hiring an absolute professional. Thank you, Shanna!

Coral Massoth, Art Director: Coral transports us to 1986 Albuquerque in “Sunset” — and 2135 Albuquerque in “Arcade” (an upcoming feature by Towne Films). She creates any setting with authenticity — sourcing props, dressing sets, and more — all with exacting detail and an amazing attitude. Coral’s many art department credits speak for themselves, and she’s currently available for your next project. Thank you, Coral!

Eddie Lamb, Sound Mixer & Boom Operator: Eddie is a sought-after sound mixer with many credits to his name (including “Ruthless,” a #1 on Hulu recently). Referred to us by Felicia of , he captured the sound and dialogue of “Sunset” impeccably — and was the perfect balance of funny, positive and professional on set. He also happens to be a chef, musician and mixed martial artist — a true Renaissance man. Thank you, Eddie!

Dario Vitolo, Gaffer: Dario is a consummate professional and wizard of light. His tasteful approach to the 80s palette of “Sunset” elevated our production to the next level. From a single bulb in an attic, to creating full exterior moonlight, he deftly captured the tone. He also effectively mentored a new PA while still getting the job done. In addition to his gaffer work, Dario is an in-demand director of photography, having DP’d for Disney’s 100-year anniversary celebration in 2023. Thank you, Dario!

Delaney Moghanian, Director of Photography: Delaney has shot Emmy®-nominated programming, and honored us by shooting “Sunset.” Her photography exceeded our vision — rendering a world of 1980s horror films-meets-New Mexico that feels both familiar and original. We’re beyond happy with the result of her work. Delaney is also a brilliant songwriter, musician and actress who welcomes new opportunities to share her talents. Thank you, Delaney! IG:

Erin Weston, Producer, Assistant Director: Erin is a good friend who reached out to us during pre-production — offering to help in any way she can. And did she! She stepped in as a highly competent producer, handling SAG-AFTRA paperwork and much more. On set, she was our AD — wrangling Trevor and Nick to stay on schedule (needed!) — and generally keeping everything moving smoothly. She’s one of the heroes of this production. Thank you, Erin! IG:

We’re beyond excited to announce that Nazneen Akhtar Rahim is now a producer for “Sunset!”

Nazneen is a powerful force for good in our film scene. She champions the work of others and is an accomplished actor and producer. She’s written for New Mexico Film News and hosted the radio show Cinema Scope — where she’s interviewed independent filmmakers and a variety of other entertainment professionals. Her impressive resume extends even further as she holds a law degree from the University of Westminster (to name only a few of her far-reaching accomplishments).

Nazneen is an enthusiastic supporter of “Sunset,” and has already provided valuable mentorship, connections and support.

Welcome, Nazneen! It’s such an honor to work with you!

We have a completed rough cut! We can’t wait to share the “Sunset” proof of concept with you soon!🧛🏻‍♂️

In 2023, we were proud to film a scene from our feature film “Sunset” (working title) — and are excited to share it with you in the days ahead. We believe what we have is special — and with our short and pitch deck in hand, we will knock on doors and bend any ear to secure financing for the feature. This is our focus entering 2024, and we invite you to continue with us on this journey. It’s already been a rewarding one as we’ve worked with amazing talent throughout our community, and received so much enthusiastic support. We will continue making this film as homegrown as possible here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. You’ll get tired of us saying this, but THANK YOU. We couldn’t be more grateful and excited to be here with you. And we’re just getting started. Together, we’re .

Amazing BTS reel by makeup & prosthetics artist (alchemist?) Shanna Gatsch Thibodeaux . This showcases her work beautifully, and the way she brought our vampires to “life.” Daniel Gatsch took these incredible photos, capturing our cast and crew at work.

Prepping for the first shot on our first night of filming with director Trevor Marcotte. We’re proud of what we’ve seen so far, and could not have captured it without DP Delaney Moghanian and gaffer Dario Vitolo. Will See, one of our PAs, was exceptional and always at the ready.

Derek Bauder does it again! An excellent recap of filming the “Sunset” sizzle reel, Day 3. We’d like to thank our AMAZING cast and crew, sponsors and location hosts. That’s a wrap for now, but we’re just getting started. Stay tuned!

Dreams. Best friends. First loves. Street races. Vampires. All in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1986.

SUNSET is a coming-of-age horror/comedy film. It’s about the dangers we face in growing up—and experiencing both tragedy and true love for the first time. It’s a love letter to 80s vampire films (think “The Lost Boys” and “Fright Night”), with a focus on characters and relationships. And of course, there will be blood.
