This week's read.
Physics of the Future
By
Michigan Kaku
I have already read introduction and a few page of first chapter about computers of the future. It's quite interesting book. It was written in 2011. Every chapter is devided in three periods, first from 2011 to 2030, second from 2030 to 2070 anf final 2030 to 2100. And what he had predicted for the period 2011 to 2030 is almost what we are witnessing today.
What I have found common between this book and Noah Harari's book Homo Deus is that humans in future would get powers of the gods of mythology.
Here is an excerpt from this book:
"Now dare to imaging the world in the year 2100.
By 2100, our destiny is to become like the gods we worshipped and feared. But our tools will not be magic wands and potions but the science of computers, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and most of all quantum theory, which is the foundation of the previous technologies. By 2100, like gods of mythology, we will be able to manipulate objects with the power of our minds."
"Although this godlike power seems unimaginably advanced, the seeds of all technologies are being planted even as we speak. It is modern science, not chanting and incantations, that will give us the power."
There are lot more thing quote from it, but that's it for now. If someone interested in it I can share briefly what I found interesting and worth sharing.
