I am beyond humbled to be submitted for recognition and to potentially receive the Allene M. Jackson Award. This award is given each year to someone providing a commitment to excellence in the work they do with a person or persons who are 50 years or older and who have a developmental disability.

I have had the absolute pleasure and humbling experience of reading the letters that accompanied my nomination and I am beyond grateful as I don’t feel I do anything more than I should for the wonderful people I help live lives according to their definition of a high quality of life and honoring the wishes of them and their families. Everything I do are things I would hope someone would do for me or a family member of mine.

Good luck to all the other contenders as I know we are each providing some excellent service and support to a vulnerable population in our communities.
