So I’ve taken a short career break and completed an MA in Digital Media from( first class honors, thank you very much, and now I’m taking the knowledge I’ve gained and am in the process of organizing photography workshops. Rather than spread the knowledge out over several weeks we will cover what we need to know in one day.

The first one is a relaunch of my RTFM ( Read the F***ing Manual) course which aims to get you shooting quickly with the camera you have been afraid of for the last while. It will be held in The Connacht Hotel on January 10th from 11-4 ( approx.)

Divided into two parts, over 4+ hours, the course is a perfect introduction to what you and your camera can achieve together. It aims to remove the mystery and confusion new photographers often face when taking up the hobby and even has valid tips for those with more experience gained from over 12 years professional experience.
The course is aimed at ALL camera owners from those with simple cameras up to those with the most up to date, the techniques are the same.

The first half of the day covers the core values of photography, i.e. composition, technique and lighting; the second will help you wrestle control from the camera. It will help you work out what has gone wrong when you think you have done everything right, and how to add that “special sauce” that will give your photographs character.

Finally, it will cover digital management and what to do after you have created your picture.

Participants will also be added to my mailing list and will receive bi- monthly articles and links from world renowned photographers to keep up the momentum, as well as information on other courses. It is too easy to fall back into old habits but with a little persuasion you can kep the momentum up and keep on moving forward.

The fee for the course is €80, which also includes a full set of notes both online and on paper. Tea and coffee is also provided.

There is also the option of adding a signed and personalised copy of “Tribe” for a total cost of €100, which would be a perfect Christmas present for the budding photographer in your life.

AND as a special offer If you book and pay before the end of November the cost will be only €90

So you've spent a few hundred euro on a digital camera that can do everything. The problem is that the manual is the size of " Lord of the Rings" and every time you read it you fall asleep.
So you leave it on automatic and hope for the best, leaving you with blurry ,out of focus, dark images.
You want to improve but dont have the time to commit to a 6 week course

Ive been offered a space to teach a beginners class in photography in a city center location on January 19th
It will be a one time 3 hour class called RTFM: ie
Read the F****** Manual!
It is suitable for beginners and those who need a refresher course and will cover a lot of aspects that people mistakenly skip over in their haste to take pictures, everything from holding your camera to cataloguing your images
You do not need a DSLR, you just need a camera with some manual control.
We will touch on a lot of stuff in a short period of time but you will walk away with a full set of notes to look over on your own time. And there will be a small practical section to "lock in" some of the more important sections
The fee is 75 euro and the course is limited to 15 people.
Message me if you are interested.

Ive taught this course before and the people who attended really got a lot out of it, most of all it's fun
