**BSP Orders Financial Institutions to Accept All National ID Formats**

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has instructed all BSP-Supervised Financial Institutions (BSFIs) to accept all formats of the national ID, including the digital version, as valid identification.

As per BSP Memorandum 2024-026, issued on August 9, BSFIs must recognize the national ID in any format as an official government-issued ID and a primary proof of identity, provided it passes authentication checks.

The digital national ID, launched on June 10, can be accessed via computers or smartphones and includes the owner's ID number, basic demographic details, and a QR code.

Additionally, BSFIs are required to use the national ID verification system (https://everify.gov.ph/check) to confirm the authenticity of the ID presented.

This year, we're working to establish the Developh Library—a physical and digital collection of critical books, texts, and printed matter on technology, design, & culture for the Filipino technologist.

The Philippines is often the subject of many technology studies—used as a literal testing grounds. Yet, there's a lack of public access to reading materials that tackle the question of technology and its intersections. We hope to take this small step to democratize tech writing, especially works by small authors/presses without digital editions, and make them available to technologists across the nation.
