We had the honor of capturing a sweet couple’s anniversary photos yesterday and it got me thinking of how DJ and I first got together.
When I think about DJ and I’s love story I can’t help but think of the verse Amos 3:3: “Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?”
DJ and I knew each other for a good 10+ years before we started dating. We had walked some different roads before we got together but, eventually, we found ourselves on a similar path forward.
And on one unsuspecting day, it was like a flip had switched - both of us while moving forward in the direction we felt God was leading us to go - then looked at who was walking beside us, headed in the same direction, and suddenly a relationship felt supernaturally natural.
Although we haven’t always known all the details, we have stayed in agreement on the bigger picture that continues to guide our marriage forward.
Today’s unsolicited advice, lol - Be intentional about setting a clear direction in your marriage. Over time the path may get a little fuzzy and take a few wild turns, but continuing to push forward together is so much easier when you both already agree on the direction. 💗

What DJ loves about Cassie:
I love Cassie for who she has always been: beautiful, strong, wise, God-loving, kind, honest, caring, and such a creative person. She has been my rock when life is out of control. She always supports me and sees me for who I am and who I can be. She is so wise and understanding. She is a wonderful listener and always has the best advice. She supports people and their dreams. She always has such a positive perspective of life. She has the best laugh, and it’s super contagious. I love the way Cassie loves me and I couldn’t imagine my life without her.
What Cassie loves about DJ:
He is the kind of person who makes everyone feel like a someone. His care and kindness towards others is genuine and never-ending. He is constantly learning and trying to improve. He is the funniest person I’ve ever met. He has a discernment about people that’s somehow always right. He has the prettiest, bluest eyes! He is the best dog-dad in the entire world. I love how he always trusts God even in the midst of chaos and confusion. He always makes me laugh and reminds me to relax and have fun. He makes my life better in every way.
