Aside from your hosts love of the genre, I think it is important to expose younger ears to classical music. Classical Music is thought by some to be on the verge of extension, but having a college radio show dedicated to it shows its potential and promise for a coming resurgence. In the two hour program, I admit I favor older recordings which I think adds another layer to the subject. In the sense that aside from the piece and composer, a recording in itself can be of historical importance.
