"Don't rattle your ice in your glasses, and don't ring the cash register!" On this day in 1960, Charles Mingus entered the Nola Penthouse Sound Studios, located at 111 West 57th in NYC. There he recorded the tracks that would become the classic Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus album, as well as tracks that would appear on the self-titled Mingus album the following year.
