Soil: Arts and Literature Magazine Soil seeks to create conversations on social topics and issues, while promoting and creating a community for a diversity of artists and writers.

Soil seeks to provide artists and writers, either working within established artistic communities or working independently, a venue to come together and explore relevant themes and social topics through the production of a semi-annual publication. We seek to address themes that are both critically engaging in politically unstable times, and relevant to a diverse variety of voices and experiences.

It is our hope that by exploring and emphasizing the interplay between the efforts of various artists working across multiple mediums, new collaborations, friendships, and conversations can be fostered. Soil hopes to pair the release of issues with an exhibition and reading to provide a tangible experience for both participating artists and the community in which they work. Our ultimate goal is to use profits from the sale of Soil to contribute to charities which relate to the topics discussed within the various issues, while providing artists and writers with exposure to diverse communities via an expressive publication that brings significant issues to light.
