Thank you so much for all your birthday wishes! 🥳 I had a joyful day in Paris feeling like the luckiest gal in the world. Here are some highlights from an unforgettable day:

1 - Up bright and early for Women’s Marathon Swimming. We sat at the finish line with Pont Alexandre III on our left and the Eiffel Tower on our right as the athletes swam through the Seine. Pinch me moment to attend the Olympics on my birthday.
2 - Meeting Team Canada’s Emma Finlin after her incredible swim. She was so kind and wished me a happy birthday! 🥰
3 - We went to Ladurée (it has to be the original one near the Madeleine) for post-Olympics birthday brunch.
4 - Obligatory bathroom selfie.
5 - A feels-made-for-me Jane Austen birthday card.
6 - The staff at Ladurée were super lovely. When they heard it was my birthday, they brought my coffee with a special message on top.
7 - They also brought a pain au chocolat with a candle so I could make a wish. A little girl at a nearby table said it was also her birthday…Paris birthday twin!
8 - Ladurée isn’t using the pastel cups and saucers and plates I adored (see the YouTube video we made here for a reminder) but it’s still charming.
9 - We split a giant macaron with rose and raspberry.
10 - Interior of Ladurée (they have special macarons for the Paris Olympics).
11 - A visit to the Marin Montagut shop.
12 - May or may not have bought myself some birthday gifts here.
13 - Picnic of my dreams at Luxembourg Garden with a bag full of treats from a nearby boulangerie.
14 - Favourite picnic guest.
15 - Very special to see the Olympics rings on the Eiffel Tower.
16 - Seine river cruise just before sunset.
17 - Birthday dinner at Brasserie Dubillot.
18 - A table full of goodness.
19 - Steak frites pour moi.
20 - For dessert, the house speciality: Paris Brest.

When we saw comedy legend was playing our local London comedy club, we couldn’t get tickets fast enough.

No really. We couldn’t.

The show was sold out. 😂

BUT we put our names on the wait list which pleased the comedy gods who then granted us tickets. 🙏🏻

It was our first time visiting . It’s so small that, seated in the second row, I could touch the tiny stage if I stretched my legs out. Fantastic venue.

The adjoining pub is called and they have a house lager called Lager In Translation. Need I say more?

Kevin made us laugh for 60 minutes straight and shared hilarious personal stories about friends like Chris Farley, Lorne Michaels, Norm Macdonald, , and Christopher Walken.

What a fantastic night laughing until my glasses fogged up and I had tears in my eyes.

There’s nothing like meeting up for a one-on-one with a friend…and even better when you add yummy food and drinks to the mix! I had a long-awaited night out with super lovely Londoner ! We met in Antigua last year as two of the only people who chose to do an artist studio tour around Antigua. Clearly we had a lot of catching up to do! Binny posts all about amazing food and travel and shared some of her favourite London spots. Of course I took notes and immediately added all of them to my ever-growing wish list…

We met at an Indian restaurant called near Oxford Circus. They’re currently doing a collaboration with and we got to try the two limited edition bao they’ve created together. What do you get when you cross amazing Indian and Taiwanese food? Seriously delicious flavours! The mango cocktail was also divine as was the “first of the season” alphonso mango cheesecake. The Pahli Hill x Daddy Bao collab has been extended until July 27!

It was also lovely to meet Pahli Hill’s head chef who came by to say hello. He’s recently returned from a trip to Canada!

We're on national TV in Taiwan!! A news crew from Taiwan's Public Television Service follows us around for the day as we film in Taipei. We do a sit-down interview with the reporter who asks us a wide array of questions, including lots about travel in Taiwan. The reporter said she's been following our channel since we first visited Taiwan and made our first YouTube series in 2018! This was a lot of fun and the perfect way to wrap up our latest Taiwan series.

We visit Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, a former to***co factory that's now the creative hub of Taipei.

Happy Saturday! We've posted a new video in our Taiwan series exploring one of the oldest districts in Taipei. We rent public bikes and cycle along the waterfront as the sun sets and paints the sky orange. People are so friendly along the way and countless fish jump out of the water beside us. We also meet "the cutest dog in Taiwan" and two snails so big I have to stop for a closer look.

Think tea is only for drinking? Wrong! In a part of Taiwan known for producing tea, we're eating an entire meal made of tea! At a tea house surrounded by tea farms, with spectacular views of Taipei, local tea is used to cook delicious foods. We've eaten a lot of amazing meals in Taiwan, but this one is totally unique.

Oh, and I also meet a gigantic spider in a very unexpected place... 😳 🫣

Our Taiwan series continues with a new video! We're immersing ourselves in Taiwanese tea culture by experiencing a tea tasting with a local tea farmer named Mr. Chang. He's a seventh generation tea farmer and his family has been farming tea since the 1700s when they emigrated and brought seeds with them. Drinking tea with the person who actually grew the tea is a new experience and a Taiwan highlight. ☺️ 🫖

There's nothing like the satisfaction of a cheap thrill, especially when you're travelling. Running around Budapest and eating food off the ground? The Hungarian Christmas Witch Hunt is some of the most fun we’ve had making a video! 😂

This strange Christmas tradition isn’t practiced in Hungary anymore but locals still know the folklore. December 13th is St. Lucy’s Day when, according to the story, Hungarian men each began building a ‘Lucy chair’ or Luca szék that would allow them to identify witches. ‘Lucy chairs’ are not common in Hungary these days - try finding one! - so we thought it’d be more fun to act the story out. A very dramatic retelling indeed…😉

Bonus points if you can tell what we used instead of poppy seeds!

On December 6th each year, St. Nicholas leaves treats like candy and chocolate in the shoes of children who have been good. Krampus is a devil or demon who accompanies St. Nicholas the night before and punishes children who have been bad. He carries a whip and a sack and, if children have been extra bad, he puts them in his sack and drags them to hell. This is probably the craziest Christmas tradition I’ve ever experienced. 👹

Why do Austrians buy cherry branches at Christmas? It may be a tradition you want to adopt too… 🍒

Every year on December 4th, a Christmas tradition is celebrated in Austria (and some other countries). It’s called St. Barbara’s Day (Barbaratag in German) after a Christian martyr named Barbara who lived in the Middle Ages.

Her father was pagan and wanted to keep her a virgin so he locked her up in a tower whenever he was away. After he came back from a trip one day, he noticed that the tower had three windows whereas before there had only been two. He asked Barbara why there were now three windows. She confessed that she had become a Christian and the windows represented the Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Her father was extremely angry and demanded that she give up Christianity. She refused and he ordered that she be tortured and executed. The story goes that on the way to prison, she found some cherry twigs and gave them a little bit of her drinking water each day. Then, on the day of her ex*****on, they blossomed.

So now, even today, it is popular in Austria on December 4th to get yourself some cherry twigs, take them home, and put them in a vase. If they bloom by Christmas Eve, December 24th, it signifies good luck and health for the next year. It can also mean that someone in your family will get married. 💍 I hope that if you decide to take part in this centuries-old Christmas tradition, you find beautiful cherry blossoms to forecast a wonderful year ahead.

Happy Friday! We just posted a new video snorkelling with sea turtles at Balicasag Island in the Philippines, an excellent place for getting up close with wildlife and coral. The water is the clearest blue and as warm as bathwater. Sea turtles are such graceful, gentle creatures and being near them makes the whole world slow down. The crew on our boat cooks a delicious BBQ of Filipino food, including meat and fish cooked on skewers, fish soup, noodles, and rice. For dessert it's fresh, juicy watermelon. We also try a drink called Four Seasons, which is very popular in the Philippines. Join us for this magical day experiencing nature in all its glory. 🇵🇭

NEW VIDEO! We've been working hard on new videos and it's exciting to share this one from the Philippines! 🇵🇭 We're up at the crack of dawn to get suited up, onto a little boat, onto a slightly bigger boat, and join the hunt for wild dolphins. The island of Panglao in Bohol is known as a highway for dolphins as they look for food and travel between islands. You never know what you'll find (if anything!) looking for wildlife. Turns out to be an emotional rollercoaster.

The next video in our Rocky Mountaineer series is already here! We've just posted Day 2 of our spectacular 48hrs aboard Canada's most luxurious train. We've never posted videos back-to-back before (in more than 300 videos!) so this is a first!

On Day 2 we see two of the most exciting sights along the route: harrowing Hell's Gate and Cisco Crossing (where the train crosses a narrow bridge high above the Fraser River). Of course we also try more delicious dishes off the dining car menu and arrive to our final destination in Vancouver, British Columbia after travelling about 900km.

It's clear why this is a bucket list trip for SO many people! Is it on yours?

Today is my mom’s birthday! I mean it when I say I don’t know a kinder or more loving person. She is compassionate, generous, strong, determined, and devoted. She constantly works to make life better for those lucky enough to know her. The world is improved by her presence, and my own life most certainly is too.
