Taking inspiration from the popular folk magazine of the ’60s, Broadside, Torrent Magazine will work to chronicle the highs and lows of the current folk music revival with album
reviews, concert/tour reviews, articles on influential songwriters of the past and up-and-coming musicians of the present -- hopefully, it will eventually feature original & traditional sheet music as well. I saw hundreds, thousands of excellent folk acts actively performing and releasing albums but they were rarely mentioned in the most well known music magazines. And so... Torrent Magazine was born. Above all, it is a publication dedicated to folk music and the people that play it. Our goal is to report on unsigned artists well as signed artists; to make no discriminations against musicians because they are relatively new to the scene -- as long as we hear talent in the music they produce, we want to write about them.
