The "Behold, God is Love” Project is a volunteer run, deep web ministry project, reaching out into the expanse of social media networks with evangelizing videos. Volunteer media enthusiasts collaborate to produce compelling video adaptations of classic Christian utterances which are related to the project’s moniker— "Behold, God is Love". These pieces intend to speak to the culture this simple mes
sage, and sow the seed of peace within individual hearts and communities. While each release is carefully crafted to produce the most vivid presentation possible, appealing to both Christians and non-Christians alike, the most unique aspect of the BGIL Project is its means of delivery within social networks. The BGIL Project attempts to market these videos to those who might be most be in need of God’s love, through paid targeted campaigns to interest groups that are associated with the seven deadly sins of the Christian tradition: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride. Basically, we pay to place the BGIL videos in the social feeds of those who are interested in things like “pornography”, “fast food”, “aggressive portfolios”, “video games”, “mixed martial arts”, “luxury cars”, “academia” in correspondence with the list above, and using multiple possible interests per sin category. As you can see, some interests targeted may or may not be related to sin directly, but at least remotely associated to cast the widest net. To run these social promotions requires a small amount of money to be spent with the individual social networks. It costs about $10 a week to reach 2,500 people. BGIL would like to promote the videos at this amount weekly on three different networks, for a total of $30 per week in operating costs, or a total of $1500 per year.
