The IAAPA Attractions Expo 2014 kicks off tomorrow at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, USA. More than 27,000 attendees coming from all around the world are expected in the largest trade show in the global attractions industry.

Disney has chosen Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to introduce its first major project related to Marvel's universe. Scheduled to open in 2016, the park will expand its Tomorrowland area with a new themed area based on Iron Man, one of Marvel's most popular franchises in recent years.

Cedar Fair continues its strong growth momentum after the summer season. As of September 1, year-to-date net revenues increased approximately 6%, to approximately $927 million compared with $876 million a year ago. The growth is driven by a 5% increase in average in-park guest per capita spending and by a 7% increase in out-of-park revenues. Total attendance increased by 1% to 19.3 million visits.

Theme park operator Plopsa Group has announced its plans to open an €8 million (approx $10.9 million) launch coaster in its Holiday Park property in Hassloch, Germany. The Belgium-based group has decided to entrust the project to Premier Rides which will be in charge of designing and manufacturing the yet-to-be named ride for an opening scheduled in July 2014.

L'opérateur de parcs d'attractions Plopsa Group a annoncé qu'il allait investir 8 millions d'euros afin d'ouvrir un launch coaster dans sa propriété d'Holiday Park à Hassloch en Allemagne. Le groupe belge a choisi de confier le projet au constructeur américain Premier Rides qui sera chargé de concevoir et d’assembler l'attraction pour une ouverture prévue en juillet 2014.

The Themed Entertainment Association is organizing its 9th annual conference on experience design SATE 2013 today and tomorrow at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia, USA.

SATE brings together professionals specializing in creating themed experiences for visitor attractions, whether it is in theme parks, museums, science centers, historic attractions, world fairs or live entertainment productions. About 200 international designers, producers, technical designers, architects, operators, integrators, suppliers and students attend a comprehensive speaker program made up of case studies, testimonials, Q&A and roundtable discussions.

L'enthousiasme était de mise dans les allées du centre des expositions de la Porte de Versailles de Paris, il y a de cela deux semaines, alors que l'Euro Attractions Show célébrait son 10ème anniversaire dans la ville lumière.

Après un passage réussi à Berlin l'an dernier, l'IAAPA avait forgé de grandes attentes pour cette édition, visant de nouveaux records de fréquentation, du nombre d'exposants et de surface d'exposition. Et le pari est gagné ! Les premiers chiffres montrent que plus de 8.500 personnes se sont inscrites, y compris plus de 5.900 acheteurs qualifiés, tandis que 393 exposants ont fait le déplacement à Paris.

The Euro Attractions Show 2013 ended on a very positive note last week after three intensive days of business meetings and networking events in Paris. From our tour of the show floor, we got the opportunity to meet a lot of suppliers which all have the same words to describe this tenth edition of the largest conference and trade show for the attractions industry in Europe.

Enthusiasm was reigning among the aisles of the Porte de Versailles exhibition center in Paris last week, while the Euro Attractions Show was celebrating its tenth anniversary in the City of Light.

After its successful stint in Berlin last year, the European office of IAAPA had high expectations for this year's edition, aiming for record exhibit space, exhibitor number and attendance. And the bet was won, as preliminary statistics show that more than 8,500 attendees registered including more of 5,900 qualified buyers while 393 companies exhibiting made the trip to Paris.
