```The Lord faced temptation in the wilderness, showing us how to resist worldly desires and aspirations. Let's follow His example by prioritizing God's will over our own, finding contentment in serving Him rather than seeking glory for ourselves. With the power of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome any temptation that comes our way.
Today we reflect on the remarkable events of Easter morning, as Mary Magdalene and the other women raced to share the news of Jesus' resurrection. Peter and John also ran to see for themselves, leading to a moment of belief for John at the empty tomb. Let us remember the blessing of believing without seeing.
In our last article, we learned that when we trust Christ as our Savior, we are no longer slaves to sin. Even though sin still resides in us and we have the ability to sin, we must yield ourselves to God rather than giving in to sin. We are now under the reign of grace, which is the unmerited favor of God. Through grace, our sins are forgiven, and we will never suffer the consequences of our wrongdoing. This leads us to an important question: "Shall we continue to commit sinful acts since we are saved from the penalty of our sins?" The answer is no. We were once slaves of sin but now have become slaves to righteousness. Our lives should reflect this change by living in holiness and obedience to God.
The Olivet Discourse, is regarded as "the most important single passage of prophecy in all the Bible." In this captivating section, Jesus prophesies about the destruction of the temple and His return. He warns His disciples not to be deceived by counterfeits, scared by catastrophes, silent in the conflict, or surrender in the crucible of persecution. These teachings have significant practical implications for our lives today. Let us prioritize truth, trust in God's control, testify to His love, and remember that enduring to the end brings salvation.
Little is known about the first 30 years of Jesus' life, including the temptations He faced during those silent years. Was Satan restrained during this time or did he continuously target Jesus? Regardless, the timing and intensity of The Temptation of Jesus were significant. After His baptism, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by Satan for 40 days. This serves as a reminder that even believers face temptation and it reveals their spiritual condition. Despite being impeccable, Jesus felt the weight of temptation more strongly than anyone else. Satan tried to challenge His identity and relationship with God, but Jesus responded with Scripture and dependence on His Father. In the end, Satan had nothing in Him.
What a morning it turned out to be for these women! From despair and confusion to hope and joy, their journey to the tomb of Jesus revealed the most thrilling news in human history – He is risen! The empty tomb spoke volumes, confirming the words of Christ Himself. And now, the invitation extends to you: come and see for yourself. The gospel from the graveyard still echoes today – Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Will you accept this invitation? The hope that dawned on that first day of the week is available to all who believe.
🔥 The wood offering mentioned in the book of Nehemiah sheds light on the person and work of Jesus Christ, beyond the Levitical offerings. While each offering represents Christ, the wood offering connects to the burnt offering, symbolizing a life fully consecrated to God. As believers, we have the privilege and responsibility to keep the fire burning by sharing the message of forgiveness and acceptance through Christ's sacrifice. Let us yield ourselves in surrender to Him and live a life that glorifies His name.
The question of identity is a major concern in today's Western society. The instability of the modern world and the erosion of traditional markers have left many unsure of who they are. In Peter's first epistle, he addresses the believers who were scattered and suffering, reminding them of their true identity. Peter emphasizes that as believers, we are chosen by God and have a special place in His purpose. Our identity is not defined by man's estimation but by our relationship with Christ. We are living stones in a spiritual house, part of a holy priesthood, offering up spiritual sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ. Let us embrace the wonder of our true identity as chosen ones.
Have you ever wondered about the surprising stories connected to the tabernacle in Exodus? From the golden calf to the pre-tabernacle, these stories reveal what the tabernacle represented to believers of that past age and how they relate to our truths today. Did you know that Moses reached the summit of God's mountain seven times? His mountaintop communion with God was not only personal but also visible to all the people below. How many of us have ventured "outside the camp" of this world to enjoy the presence of our Lord?
Jeremiah tells us that God rose up early to speak through His prophets, and Habakkuk was one of them. Burdened by the evil around him, Habakkuk embraced God in prayer, faith, and songs of victory. In his book, he wrestles with great moral questions and seeks answers from God. This dialogue between a man and God teaches us that He is the God of the nations, holy, sovereign, and faithful. Despite circumstances, we can depend on Him and rejoice in Him. Dive into this thought-provoking book of the Bible that offers peace and praise by faith.
In the first of five warnings in the letter to the Hebrews, the writer cautions believers against the dangers of departure and apostasy. The warning is not about losing salvation, as true believers are secure in Christ. Rather, it emphasizes the importance of taking seriously what God has spoken and not neglecting our faith. Backsliding can occur when we drift away from God's truth, leading to devastating consequences. Let us be diligent in reading and applying His Word to prevent drifting and strengthen our faith.
