Not all resilience is the same. Sometimes resilience is unavoidable simply because life in this world can be hard. Other times, we are met with injustice and have to be unnecessarily resilient just to survive. Give yourself grace when it feels that obstacles seem higher than your capacity for resilience.

Pastors, be careful saying your church is "Side B". It's one thing to want your church to be safe for q***r people. It's another to make the sacrificial steps to make it a reality. That doesn't mean letting fear lead you to do nothing but being driven by the Gospel to take sacrificial steps. One step to take is to ask yourself and your team the question at the end of the tweet, "What does our church hold to that supports the thriving of q***r people?"

Today is elevating the importance of seeing our Trans* siblings. Visibility heights vulnerability but it also empowers and changes hearts. We think back to the story of Hagar who names God, El Roi - the God who see me. Hagar was on the margins yet God saw her and called to her. No matter if you are out or not, know that God sees you and so do we.

It is our resiliency that points to God. As the cohosts discussed in the newest episode, resilience is the ability to persevere through and recover from difficulty. It is not the absence of the difficulty. This is a reality in our lives as q***r people and followers of Jesus. With resilience comes scars but scars reveal healing. Just as Jesus pointed to his scars as evidence of his resurrection, so too do the scars in our lives point to the reality of Jesus working in our lives. Jesus is made visible in q***r bodies. This does not mean the difficulty isn't still difficulty. It does not mean that pain isn't still pain. But resilience through it all builds hope of the future God has for us.
