Port Harcourt is the Capital of Rivers State and one of the largest cities in Nigeria.

Nowadays people eat everything that moves, we thought Chinese only enjoys them but Africans enjoys it in various soups .

Other places and tribes they called this beautiful worms; Yorubas in Nigeria called it Kanni while some called it monimoni.

Other places they called it, Mopani worms, Mani Mani in Nupe language, Tibati in Siswati language Swaziland, Mphalabungu in Malawi, Oyuo.

Many Africans said is very delicious and in Kenya certain hotels it cost for £20 a plate.

The Goodwill Ambassador of The Drug Law Enforcement Agency under the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Mamour M Mbenga and Executive Director of Africa Drug Free Foundation, On Thursday 9th May, visited AFIA Football Academy Foundation in Banjul.

Mr. Mbenga meet Team Manager of the academy club, Coach Tejan Yullah who grace the visit as timely.

Ambassador Mbenga sensitize the young athletes the negative impact illicit drugs have in the sports industry.

Mbenga briefly highlights areas of interest for a sports development program under the Mantle leadership of Africa Drug Free Foundation (ADF).

He urge the young athletes to stay focus , avoid commiting illegal activities that will affect their career goals.

Upon his tour visit, started in the Capital Banjul, Mbenga will assess areas of concern in abating drugs and crimes in the sports industry.

" As a good patriotic citizen I believe it should be the duties of everyone to contribute his or her quota to the development of the country".

"I urge sports stakeholders and Coaches to be mentoring young athletes the dangers of illicit drugs in society and the FIFA Anti Doping Rules and Regulations", he addressed.

Coach Tejan Yullah welcome the kind gesture and complement Mr. Mbenga effort's with the Agency in abating drugs.

Mr. Mbenga will continue the tour visit to various sporting bodies including academy football clubs in order to access the situation and areas affecting young athletes.

This will guide his Foundation's projects to highlights potential opportunities for these young athletes.

Former Sierra Leonean International Footballer Lamin Bangura Finally Laid To Rest

Late Coach Lamin Bangura a former elite player in Sierra Leone who have made numerous appearances for the Leone National Team before becoming a coach was reported death in a fatal road accident.

On Wednesday late night he was involved in a fatal road accident while traveling for an away match to Keneba with players of Ports Authority FC a First Division Club in Freetown .

Several players and Coaching staff were also involved in the fatal accident that involved many to be hospitalized.

The entire football Community mourns the loss of their great legend.

WORLD'S TALLEST BUILDING

The world's tallest building is Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

It is exactly 828-metre-tall (2,717 ft) and has 163 floors plus 2 underground.

It's Construction began on 21 September 2004, with the exterior of the structure completed on 1 October 2009.

Buy the time of it's completion, a record of 12,000 workmen had been involved in it's construction.

The building is designed with a complex Y-shaped cross section to reduce the effect of wind.

Burj Khalifa is owned by Emaar Properties, a business founded by billionaire Mohamed Ali Alabbar, but it was built by Samsung C&T of South Korea, BESIX of Belgium, and Arabtech of the United Arab Emirates.

The building houses hotel and luxury residences, offices, observation decks, restaurants and health facilities.

The Gidan Rumfa (Palace of Emir Rumfa) is the oldest and most expansive traditional palace in Northern Nigeria. Located in the heart of ancient Kano city, it covers an area of about 14 hectares.

It was built by Sarkin Muhammadu Rumfa (King Muhammad Rumfa) who ruled from 1463 to 1499 during which time the Kano Emirate served as the seat of power throughout Northern Nigeria.

After the Fulani Jihad of 1805, the Laterite palace has been rebuilt several times to its modern glory while still retaining its original significance.

Eritrea Dominate Cycling Event At 13th African Games
Eritrea continues to dominanate in the Cycling event of the 13th African Games at Ablekuma winning more Gold medals.
The Pen Ultimate event, individual Time Trial was yet again dominated by the Red Sea Carmels in both the men's and women's category in splendor.
The Men's Team Time Trial encompassed a distance of 50km over 4 laps and recorded an average speed of 49.6km/hr.
Eritrean quarter of Tsegay Dawit, Merhawi Kudus Ghebremedlein,Milkiyas Maekele Hayle and finished with Gold in a time of 01:00:26 leaving behind them South Africa and Mauritius in a respective time of 01:00:31 and 01:02:10. 62 male riders participated in the Team Time Trials but with Algeria and Tanzania dropping off.
Ghana came through the 9th position in a respectable time of 01:10:11.
In the Women's category, 34 riders took part with Eritrea once again establishing their superiority with a time of 00:52:31 , followed by South Africa in 00:52:39 and Mauritius coming through the third spot in 00:54:28.
The Ghanaian ladies glittered in 8th position in a time of 00:54:28.

03 years already, day to day the lyricist Thione Ballago Seck left us.
Born on March 12, 1955, in a family of griots, his grandfather was a poet and singer at the court of Lat Dior, in the kingdom of Cayor. He’s early in the traditional festivities. Then he plays for Dakar Star Band He then, in the 1970s, became the singer of Orchestra Baobab, an Afro-Cuban salsa group in Senegalese style, a group known for hosting Dakar Nights in those same years. In 1984 he created his own orchestra Raam Daan with his brother Mapenda Seck.

His music is also marked by Arabic rhythms and percussion. One of his hits is titled "Orientissime". These themes, privileged as a speaker, include love, family, community, spirituality, social situations.

Otto Addo names squad for Nigeria, Uganda friendlies

Bolivia based David Akologo, Nordsjaellands Ibrahim Osman, France based Nathaniel Adjei, and Diomande Mohammed of Rangers of Scotland have been named in Ghana’s 26-man squad for this month's international friendly against Nigeria and Uganda.

The quartet and Asante Kotoko's Frederick Asare have earned their debut call ups following exceptional performances with their respective clubs.

The friendly games scheduled for Marrakech,
Morocco marks the beginning of the new era under Otto Addo.

Brighton and Hove Albion right back Tariq Lamptey is back in the squad after recovering from an injury that ruled him out of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Left back, Patrick Kpozo, winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and midfielder Edmund Addo have also made a return to the team.

Captain Andre Ayew, forward Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Osman Bukari, Samed Abdul Samed, and Elisha Owusu have been named in the squad.

Ghana will take on Nigeria on Friday, March 22, before facing Uganda four days later.

Otto Addo names backroom staff

Otto Addo has named Joseph Laumann, John Painstil, and Fatau Dauda as assistant coaches.

Laumann, a UEFA pro-License holder, previously played in Cyprus, Germany, and Vietnam. In coaching, he has had stints with Standard Liege, VfL Bochum, and Barnsley in the English championship.

Also, in the backroom, staff are former Ghana players John Painstil and Fatau Dauda.

John Painstil played for Fulham, West Ham United, and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa before hanging his boots after featuring in two FIFA World Cup tournaments for Ghana.

The former Berekum Arsenal and Liberty Professionals player is a Ghana legend of 89 caps, a former captain and a member of the squad that won Bronze in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.

John was a former assistant coach at Kaizer Chiefs and a CAF Licence B holder.

Fatau Dauda, a former goalkeeper of Voradep, Okwahu United, AshantiGold and Orlando Pirates, represented Ghana 23 times and featured in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Ghana Football Association shall provide the necessary support to the newly formed technical team to ensure their success, having in mind that there will be some good moments and bad moments in this new era.

We strongly believe that with the right level of support, our collective future looks bright.

The GFA is, therefore, calling on Ghanaians to exercise patience and offer the team their full backing as we embark on this rebuilding process.
