This is

I share a lot about the happy, joyful times on our journey.

But there are these, too.

I’ve been cutting Avett’s hair at home for about a year because, as you can see, it’s not his favorite activity. Today we decided to give the place where we take the big kids a try.

If you were another customer there you would think it didn’t go well.

But even with holding his hands and feet, switching positions 15 times, wiping the snot from his face, and hearing him express his displeasure for the situation for about 20 minutes, this was still a success in my book.

The woman who helped us was caring and kind (and fast!). No one made comments under their breath about how loud we were (that we heard). Avett got a lot of smiles when he was done and did a little dance that he was out of the chair.

We kept apologizing but no one made us feel like we had to.

We also say we don’t need easy, we just need possible.

(But I’d be lying if I didn’t wish it was a little easier every now and then.)
