Every woman is beautifully and wonderfully made.

It’s what makes you unique, and something no one can ever take away from you.

I’ve always believed this, and it’s why I’m so dedicated to providing a platform for women to feel they belong, where they have a voice and they will be heard. And more importantly, to feel confident that their beautiful story is unique and must be celebrated! 💖

When you think about the successes in your life, what was the one thing you did that led you to that success?

You went all-in.

You were dedicated to creating change, something new, to seeing things through.

You were dedicated to our goal. And the outcome you wanted to see through, no matter how big or small, was your measure of success.

Well, it’s the same for your social media strategy.

You must go all-in.

And it’s a lesson I’ve actually learned very recently for myself too!

I get it. As a business owner, life quickly becomes a juggling act. Home, work, family, friends, and on and on. You are just getting by, so prioritizing is so important.

And most times, your priorities don’t always include marketing; a consistent schedule on social media.

There are so many reasons to make sure marketing is part of your business plan. Even if you’re referral business is steady. But, that’s a topic for another day.

What can you do in the meantime, that makes it easier to prioritize?

Going all-in on just three things:

1️⃣ On your message, to create connection and community.

We’re all competing for reach, so why not just share your authentic message with the people who matter most to you?

2️⃣ On one platform, where you can build and nurture community.

I’m exhausted even thinking about all the platforms we think we should be on or are on! Why not stick to your main platform; where you’ve built your community, and share your expertise and your leadership with them?

3️⃣ On your community; nurturing them so they find incredible value and trust in you.

Let’s stop chasing the shiny new object to capture followers. Instead, focus on content that keeps you close to your community and develop deeper relationships with them.

I get it - we’re all seeing low reach. Not all of our followers are even seeing our content. But if you think about the way you’re consuming content right here on Instagram, you’ll think of the best ways to share your content so that the most important people are seeing it.

Share original content on Reels. Topics that are relevant to your community.

You’re most loyal followers see your Stories first. Engage them there.

But more importantly, know your message. Know where your people are. And develop relationships with them.

Yes, I believe that even one person can.

But you need the love of community to support you.

And it’s why I know that you, as a business owner, can do the same, with your business.

When you ask, why do others succeed on social media? The answer is simple.

Because they are passionate about what they do. They’re authentic with their message; they have their own voice.

And they’re dedicated to serving the people who matter most to them. Their COMMUNITY.

How do I know this?

Because I experienced it with the work I did in my corporate life, when I helped very large brands and businesses share their genuine message to connect with consumers.

And now I’m lucky enough to be a business owner myself and I see it happening for my business, personally.

I’m so passionate, and even more so this past year, about helping businesses get clear on their social media strategies so they reach the right people, create connection and build and nurture their communities.

And I’ll tell you why, my why....⁠

Social media has changed drastically over the past year.⁠

Thinking you should follow the latest trends, going for popularity and followers or using all the latest platform features, is no longer going to work. ⁠

Or, because of all the changes, you may be feeling overwhelmed on what exactly you should be doing so you're not as consistent with your message. ⁠

Here’s what you do: Be laser-focused on your community; the people you help and serve, through human connection. ⁠

Happy International Women’s Day! 💖

Celebrating our day means so much to me. And I’m just so thrilled that there is a day that recognizes that women run the world! 😍

I had to share this picture because this is the first community I was ever a part of; my sisters. These four women are some of the strongest women I know. And I think they will agree that we learned strength, determination and resilience from our mom, but wow, what I continue to personally learn from them everyday as we grow older is truly amazing.

Officially back online with a !

I know I said I would be back on Jan 2, and technically I was. I shared some stories, I tried to engage as much as I could and shared a bit more content on my personal channels.

But what am I’m so excited about, that happened last week?

I set my intentions for 2024. And while I’m excited, doing it came with a bit of a struggle…

We’ve all heard about work-life boundaries. We know they’re important, but they can be really hard to create and stick to.

And having family in town for the holidays, they were able to see my reality. How a work-life balance just doesn’t exist for me.

I’ve known that for the better part of 2023. As my business grew, so did my work.

And as the work load increased, so did the hours spent towards the business. I’m grateful the hubs understands, but I came to a realization… that I’m counting on him to understand.

So this needs to change.

I also realized that it wasn’t just the hours. It’s also the “stuff”, too much stuff that I’m holding on to. And it’s not just items. It’s the stuff that creates too much noise that’s taking away my energy and blocking me from doing things that bring joy.

And I was feeling very crowded in as a result.

So last week I decided to create boundaries.

I had an epiphany!

I’ve reached a higher level position at my company, and I realized that yes, I am even closer to my vision. CEO. And instead of being nervous, afraid, not worthy, I decided I was going to embrace it.

And create some solid boundaries, starting with time management, like successful CEO’s do.

I’m no longer promising quick turnarounds, no matter the situation.

I’m present and ready for dinner every night at 6:30 pm. No exceptions.

I’m cleaning out closets, the pantry, and rearranging my office so that I see clean lines and less stuff!

I know it’s only been one week, but things seem to be working out so far.

So, long story short, TL;DR - it may be tough to draw that line to set and implement boundaries at first, but just remember how much better you’ll feel and how much more you’ll be able to show up when you do.

Just like it has for me.

It may have seemed that I was a bit more ‘unplugged’ here on Instagram this past month.

Yep, I was!

But oh, that time away really brought to light what I have learned to do in abundance!

I learned TRUST.

And while it may seem like a long road at times because of the uncertainty, and that uncertainty seems to have a stronger hold on you than trust and belief, the universe, and in my case, God, really does have your back.

I’m closing out the year having just experienced the most fulfilling year in my entrepreneurial career. This year I saw every skill that I’ve been blessed with, skills I learned in my corporate career, not settling for the easy way out, and hope, faith and love, are what has led me to this point.

And I’m just so grateful.

I’m not here to share the revenue I made or the stats behind my business. I’m here to share proof that when you find your passion, it will lead you to your purpose.

And that purpose will lead and guide you towards your vision.

And your vision is where your success lays.

Yes, be proud of the business financial success, but what is truly more meaningful?

Your personal journey.

Think about how you got here. All you did to be where you are right now. The community you’ve created.

Pretty amazing, right?

I applaud you and your incredible journey, and trust that it is guiding you towards your vision!

My vision one day?

To take a vacation without having to bring my laptop.

I was never able to do that when I worked in the corporate world. I don't think I ever took a vacation without being accessible.

It was the norm, I did it without hesitation, but it certainly was not something I enjoyed doing.

And so when I started my own business, my vision clearly stated, "To be CEO of my boutique social media marketing agency, working selectively with businesses dedicated to social media connection and community".

I also added, “… and travel without my laptop”!⁠

It’s on my business plan and I also put it out to the universe!

When I work with business owners, I will ask them to describe what success looks like for their business.

But I also ask them to describe what it looks like for themselves.

Because I firmly believe that your business plan which clearly states your business goals and vision should also include your personal vision...

What success looks like for you.

So I want you to ask yourself, what does success look like for ME?

Describe that for yourself right now.

Connection and community at the heart of social media.

What exactly is that?

First, it’s my new tagline! Late last year I embarked on a path for growth for my business. I was also growing as a business owner and leader.

So I embarked on a brand refresh. And here’s a sneak peek!

What is at the center of it all?

My message. And it’s a message I’m proud of because my message has never changed. It’s always been consistent.

It’s my lane; what I own when I share content.

It’s what my business is built around…CONNECTION and COMMUNITY.

It’s what makes me different in the vast sea of social media “experts”.

And it’s the same for you. You know social media is a marketing tool for your business and you’re committed to cutting through the clutter and noise. You just want to know how to stand apart.

If you’re focused on CONNECTION and COMMUNITY, you will stand apart because it’s YOUR message that will create connection with the right people and build a loyal COMMUNITY that you take care of and serve.

Not following trends.

Not methods or features to grow followers.

Not tactics to ‘trick’ algorithms.

Not dancing in front of cameras if it doesn’t feel right.

Do you often feel like what you do is not any different from what others in your industry are doing?

You often asking yourself, what makes you so different?

It happens to the best of us. Especially when we find ourselves going down the social media scrolling rabbit hole!

Here’s my answer. And it’s the same advice and guidance that I give every client that I work with…It’s YOU.

Who you are.

And I know everyone says it; ‘no one is you’, but it really is true. You just need to make that your starting point, and then go from there.

Because that’s when you’ll discover your message, which represents your true identity, and how to align your message with the people you want to serve.

It's your BRAND.

Many times I find that businesses are operating without knowing exactly what they want to be known for.

Without it, they just keep creating content, sharing it and hoping someone is listening.

So before we even move into a discussion on social media, we establish their brand identity.

And I know this first hand because I experienced it for myself.

I found myself asking, why was it difficult to write about social media? Why is that topic so uninteresting to me?

Because it’s what everyone else was doing!

So what would change that?

My brand. My message.

And when I discovered my brand identity, it’s when I began creating CONNECTION and building my COMMUNITY.

Look, I know I’m not for everyone, nor do I want to be. I only work with business who want to a comprehensive social media strategy that is rooted in connection and community and they want to stand apart.

They believe social media to be a MARKETING tool.

They’re not in it for vanity, popularity on TikTok or Reels, or to just be there.

They want a strategic road map that delivers on their goals.

And that’s how I chose to come at social media. From the side of storytelling. Your message.

I've been experimenting with ChatGPT for social media captions. Although I already had my opinion formed on AI, I wanted to see if my own experiment would back up what I thought and felt strongly about....the sacrifice of HUMAN CONNECTION.

Human connection can only be created through authenticity. You cannot pretend to be someone that you're not because people will see right through you. Not to mention, you're becoming someone other than yourself. Why would you want to do that?

Not to mention that it would be just so incredibly hard to keep up with a fake persona.

God created YOU. You are special just as you are. Isn't that what our parents told us growing up? Isn't that what we tell our kids?

You have your own special identity. And your own voice is the very essence of who you are.

I'm thrilled to see this article from a trusted source, who conducted their own test with X Posts (formerly Tweets) which reinforces the need for your own voice in your content.

Don’t get me wrong; there are advantages. But while there are advantages to using ChatGPT, if you're really serious about creating CONNECTION which is the only way to build COMMUNITY on social media, something I feel SO very strongly about and what my entire social media marketing business is built on; there is no substitution for your own voice.

So my advice?

Use ChatGPT for its advantages: to save time, to give you topics to write about, to help spark creativity.

But do not sacrifice your voice; your brand identity.

That my friend is what makes you stand apart on this vastly crowded space we know as social media!

Can human-written social posts generate more engagement and reach than AI-written ones? It's humans vs. robots in the ultimate showdown.

Mission doesn’t have to be for business alone.

Mine is a combination….Helping good people feel confident in their authentic message. And how to share it with others as content on social media.

With a goal for connection and community.

But now I truly know it’s purpose: to help create more love, kindness and generosity.

I’ve been giving this a lot of thought lately. Because when I stopped watching the news or reading toxic social media comments, it gave me the space to shift my thinking; from listening to the noise to what I can do to help serve that purpose.

As a society, we must move away from greed, from self-preservation, and towards generosity.

We have to move people away from vanity and popularity to confidence in who they are and how powerful that message will be to change the world.

I truly believe that your genuine message; your true self, who you truly are, what you believe in, your passions, will move the needle. And your beautiful message is meant to be shared which will not just inspire but will also empower others to do the same.

Spread love. Spread kindness. Spread generosity. Spread the truth. Spread inspiration.

And the best place? Social media.

When I started my business I remember having a very long conversation with the hubs on how I could break through all the clutter; tactical solutions to grow Followers, to get more Likes. Vanity.

Unfortunately it’s where social media started. They encouraged popularity.

Television ads celebrating 100 Likes on a post.
Rewards for reaching a certain number of followers.

It’s how we were trained. But that vanity affected people’s confidence, created negative self-image, and even a dislike of social media.

We need to flip that switch.

And I know I’m only one person, but there are many brands, organizations and other people like me, who are trying.

So how do we come together to make it a greater sum of its parts?

Hi, I'm Rose. I’m a strategist, a brand builder, a speaker, an entrepreneur.

And I am a runner.

For a long time I never thought it would be something I would be known for. I was never a runner. I never thought I could run. I was THAT person in grade school who could never run around the track.

Not a story I like telling!

But now it's a description I like to use as part of my introduction. And it's almost always followed by the question, "Why did you start running?"

And that's a story I love telling.

In 2014, my father was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. Of course, cancer is never a happy story to talk about. Why I love telling the story is because I get to share my father's story and the legacy he has since created.

When he was diagnosed, my dad was truly the epitome of being 'strong like bull', working out at the gym multiple times a week. Always the first to volunteer to help family. Nothing slowed him down.

Not even a diagnosis of Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer.

He took on the challenge with the same courage, strength and grace; the same qualities that he showed throughout his life.

I saw my dad's character everyday growing up, and that made such an impact on me and how I live my life. So I started running to share my father's journey and to help raise awareness.

I wanted the world to know my wonderful father!

And I still do. My father passed away in 2018 but I've continued to use running as a platform under the phrase "Strong Like Bull", to carry on his legacy and now, to elevate his story further. It's why I will continue to lead his fight, to help others.

It’s a passion project I’m dedicated to, so that men and their families who are faced with the challenge of a prostate cancer diagnosis know they have support, resources and people fighting along side them everyday.

So in addition to what I share about social media strategy, coffee and CEO, you’ll also find me sharing stories about my father 😇 and my running journey.

Do you like scrolling through your camera roll as much as I do?⁠

It's not because I'm searching for an image to post on social media. It's because I like to keep moments in my life close.⁠

For a pick me up. ⁠
A reminder of a special time. ⁠
For some inspiration, self-reflection or a good laugh.⁠

But there was no scrolling involved with this photo. It was one I came across when Apple decided to show it to me as a "for you" memory photo. ⁠

And it couldn't have been at a more perfect time...⁠

Apple, how did you know that I'm feeling some anxiety for a race I have coming up? And that by sharing it with me, you reminded me of just who I am? ⁠

DETERMINED. ⁠

There was so much self-determination that went into this 10k race I ran in Chicago in Sept 2022. It was a race that I decided at the very last minute to run because I was determined to finish out the 2022 running season, by doing something hard. ⁠

Running 10km; a stretch beyond what I was most comfortable at, 5km. ⁠

I went into it so positive because I knew that regardless of how I would finish, fast or slow, that I would finish. ⁠

And I did! ⁠

I'm running an 8k race on Sunday, and I'm finding myself feeling more nervous than I've been since that race. ⁠

But reminded of the determination I had that day. A reminder that fear should never take over and win. ⁠

So if you're feeling some fear going into a new week, take a scroll through your camera roll. ⁠

Or better yet, take a look at the "For You" memories your phone has chosen. ⁠

I bet there is something there that will remind you of your beautiful story; those amazing qualities of exactly 'who you are'. ⁠

And what you've accomplished because of it. You, my friend, did that! ⁠

Hi, I'm Rose...

And I'm finally here again! I've always been here, but not as regularly as I've wanted to be.

And I think I know why...

Because it's a new season and things are a-changing!

So I revisited my message.

When I started my business, my vision was for one day to be CEO of my company. I knew it would take some time.

Everything takes work.

You test new things; you learn.
You try something new; you learn.
You experiences successes and you have failures. You learn.

And what does all of that do? It leads you closer and closer to your vision. For your business; for yourself.

With the help of some really awesome female founders, women business leaders, mastermind groups and female entrepreneur communities, I've gained so much clarity on my business and myself...

My message.

And I'm excited to start sharing my message with you, more regularly and consistently, so that you walk away feeling -

❣️ Informed so that you're not just in the know but able to picture the relevancy to YOU and your business.
❣️ Inspired to share your message; bringing clarity to you, consistency in sharing your message and meaningful CONNECTION with your COMMUNITY as a result.
❣️ Educated on what to do next so that your social media marketing supports YOUR business goals.

What you're not going to get is "trending Reels audio for your next Reel" or "how I tripled my follower count in 30 days".

Those are tactics for vanity and popularity. That's so yesterday!

2023 is about CONNECTION. With your COMMUNITY.

Every platform knows it and is positioned to help you to utilize their platform in your marketing strategy.

And I'm going to help you create and implement strategies that are designed to support and achieve YOUR business goals.

It’s time to talk about…goals!

Don't cringe (like I did just writing those words) because I know everyone seems to be talking a lot about goal setting and planning since the start of the new year.

It's why I decided it's time to offer up a new perspective. Here's what I mean...

2021 was filed with injuries that crushed my running and instigated so much frustration, uncertainty, anxiety and fear with running. It was crushing to me personally. I was lost.

So at the the start of 2022, I decided to go all in on rebuilding my running game. I had goals, but unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to the mental strength I needed to fulfill those goals.

As a result, it was this mental part that kept getting in my way of letting me enjoy running like I had in years past. I beat myself up for months for losing speed, distance and endurance.

It was awful!

Until one day I decided I had enough. I decided to flip that mental switch.

I had no idea what it led to, until January 2nd and before my run that day.

I looked at my total mileage for 2022 and discovered I ran a total of 131.35 miles; a +51% increase in miles vs. 2021!

Never in my wildest dreams did I think the running I finally decided to enjoy again, because I decided to focus on the positive and not the negatives, would represent an even greater positive of this size!

Before the end of 2022 I decided that for 2023 I would find the positives in what was a tough year and create abundance from it.

Not a resolution. Not goals without significance.

And now I'm more focused than ever and looking forward to what I can build on with my running for 2023.

Something meaningful. Something intentional.

And I hope this helps you my friend, because I want you to step confidently into the new year! Because who wants another resolution that isn't meaningful or with no plan?

Not me, and I know you don't either.
