“Bobby Bazini has already established himself as a singular voice throughout his native Canada and beyond, and yet, Pearl is an unparalleled reintroduction to him as an artist and as a human. It’s a fresh start – something bold, something beautiful, and something altogether new.” - @MitchMosk, @AtwoodMagazine

:: ABOUT THE SONGS ::
“Turn Blue”
“I think the very moment when we wrote ‘Turn Blue’ was quite a defining one for this project. It’s about the fear of losing passion or love for something/someone. It’s asking the question: ‘If I were with you all the time, would you turn blue?’ It’s like, while we were making this record, we were constantly dreaming of the sea, but what if we were actually there when we made it? Would all of this be the same?”
“Pearl”
“The concept of ‘Pearl’ was born when I came across an article about how pearls are formed: When foreign objects such as grains of sand enter the oyster, it protects itself by surrounding them with layers of nacre. From an irritant, the oyster manages to create one of the rarest and most beautiful materials in the world! This concept inspired me as I made a connection to a darker time I had just gone through and felt strongly about using this as a springboard for my next album. It’s about turning the negative into something positive, when the sand/irritants enter the shell, something beautiful can be made.”
“Under the Weight”
“It’s about feeling ‘under the weight.’ Something I think everyone can relate to, however there’s hope in the song, a light, a feeling that things

:: ABOUT THE SONGS ::
“SLOWLY”
“’SLOWLY’ is a song that channels the emotional push and pull going into a one-sided breakup. On one hand, you simply want the other person to rip the bandaid off and not prolong the agony, but on the other, you are wincing at the thought of the acute pain that comes with the final blow, and wish that there could be a soft landing.”
“soft boy”
“‘soft boy’ is a song that accepts the fact that the world is harsh, and knows that it’s not strange and shouldn’t be derided for the sensitive person to be negatively affected by that truth.”
“Fatal Flaw (Livin, Alright?)”
“’Fatal Flaw (Livin, Alright?)’ could be a Tom Petty song, and it could be about anything, but it might be about existential dread, or it might be about a relationship, or it might be about transhumanism, or it might be about buying a used car.”

Watch New York City-based singer/songwriter h. pruz (@hanapruz) performing their songs “Dark Sun,”“Force,” & “I Keep Changing.” Their debut album ‘No Glory’ is out now via @mtnlaurelrecordingco!
“Achingly intimate and breathtakingly vulnerable, h. pruz’s ‘No Glory’ is a soul-stirring indie folk record of grief, healing, acceptance, and inner reckoning. It’s a collection of songs wrestling with life’s inherent fragility; how, no matter how strong our foundations may seem, we’re all living in our own house of cards – trying our best to maintain our balance and keep the peace inside and out, lest it all fall down.” - @MitchMosk, @AtwoodMagazine
“h. pruz is something of a musical and existential playground for Hannah Pruzinsky’s own unfiltered mind, body, and spirit. It’s a diary-like artistry; a space for experimentation and limitless vulnerability, where they can share those parts of themselves and their world they don’t express anywhere else.”

:: ABOUT THE SONGS ::
“Dark Sun”
“‘Dark Sun’ is the first song off of my debut album, No Glory. It’s a song I often avoid playing live, as I think the magic of it lies in its slightly out of tune/janky feel, but it felt relevant for me to play at this particular moment in my life.”
“Force”
“‘Force’ is an unreleased song I wrote last year and started to play while touring after falling in love with an arrangement my bandmates concocted with me around the fingerpicked melody. You can listen to it in a demo form if you purchase the GUNK Palestine compilation, and hopefully sometime next year in a fully realized form.”
“I Keep Changing”
“‘I Keep Changing’ is another song off of No Glory, one of the first I wrote for
Alycia Lang - “Bad Luck Bad Habit,” “In Circles,” & “Slow Fade”

“Lang packs the full spectrum of experience and emotion into Speak the Word to Hear the Sound, an achingly intimate record that hits hard and leaves a lasting impression on both the ears and the heart. She holds nothing back throughout eight soul-stirring songs that capture the messiness, the magic, the pain, and the beauty of being present in your body and feeling the weight of the world as it comes crashing down.” - @MitchMosk, @AtwoodMagazine

:: ABOUT THE SONGS ::
“Bad Luck Bad Habit”
In some ways, ‘Bad Luck Bad Habit’ questions whether the things we choose and the things that choose us are actually all that different. I wrote it when I was in the throes of a cross-country move, with plenty of time to ponder whether repeating patterns I’d assumed were bad luck might actually just be bad habits.
“In Circles”
’In Circles’ is a token of tenderness towards my own mind, and I’d hope that it’s also a good reminder to anyone listening to be gentle with themselves sometimes too. I wrote what I needed to hear so that I would have it when I needed it.
“Slow Fade”
‘Slow Fade’ is one of my favorite songs on ‘Speak the Word to Hear the Sound.’ I was thinking about how comforting a slow fade can be, if only because you know the end is coming and there’s time to process it. So often, hard moments in life hit you with an abruptness that feels like adding insult to injury. I was going through a particularly
Fantastic Cat - “Oh Man!” “All My Fault,” & “The Hammer & The Nail”

Featuring @briandunnemusic, @anthdamatomusic, @dondilego, and @mikemontali!
“Now That’s What I Call Fantastic Cat is a spirited testament to the power of collaboration and human connection: A radiant, achingly emotive folk rock record filled with disillusionment and frustration, that still manages to find a light of hope in a dark and often depressing world. Arriving two years and plenty of touring after their debut, the supergroup’s “highly unanticipated” (their words) sophomore album builds upon the strengths of their first LP as, having firmly uncovered who Fantastic Cat is, they dove in headfirst for another swing.” - @MitchMosk, @AtwoodMagazine

:: ABOUT THE SONGS ::
“Oh Man!”
“We were mid-album making and I thought it would be great to have something fun. ‘Oh man, we’re all doing the best we can’ just felt like the right sentiment. Once Mike added that drum beat and Brian that riff, and Anthony revealed his foot fetish…we were off and running.” - Don
“All My Fault”
“This song takes all the piss out of the ego and delusion required to get onstage every night and make a life in music. It’s the kind of utterly ridiculous thing I’d feel way too exposed to do in my solo career, but somehow makes perfect sense amidst all the other ridiculousness of Fantastic Cat.” - Anthony
“The Hammer & The Nail”
“I was thinking a lot about some of those old c

“Between the raw humanity of WHEN WE’RE FAR APART I FALL APART and now the tasteful turbulence and tenacity of I’M OK NO I’M NOT, Abby Holliday is proving herself a voice for all those struggling through their teens, twenties, and beyond.” - @MitchMosk, @AtwoodMagazine
“Abby Holliday has honed the voice she found only two years ago, and yet at the same time she’s put herself out there more than ever before, writing the most personal songs she’s ever written while taking more musical and sonic risks in her arrangements and production. And with great risk comes great reward: Every second of I’M OK NO I’M NOT‘s 23 minute run adds up to an irresistibly captivating and cathartic experience for all.”

:: ABOUT THE SONGS ::
“’Better By Now’ is a song I wrote in 2021. It’s about slowly falling out of love with someone and having conflicting feelings about trying to trust my gut.” - Abby Holliday
“’Ohio Laundry Room’ is one of the most special songs to me. I wrote it about a family member who I was very close to who passed away last year. Dealing with grief has been an unexpected, tough, strange journey that I’m still figuring out day by day. I hope this song gives permission to people to allow themselves to feel what they’re feeling.”
“’8 Hours’ was one of the first songs I wrote for my record ‘WHEN WE’RE FAR APART I FALL APART.’ It talks about how sometimes it’s easier to pretend like everything’s fine instead of talking about or dealing with real issues (family, fri

:: ABOUT THE SONGS ::

“Everything I Need” – A soppy but energetic love song about the triviality of lavish gifts when you have a love which is genuine.
“One More Time” – A song about the strangeness of knowing a person completely and then losing this connection overnight.
“Cascade” – A sort of desperation underpins this track, it’s about trying to navigate a relationship which is falling apart around you and the feeling of confusion, self-loathing and fear which this entails.

Watch Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer mehro (@mehromusic) performing his songs “dopamine,” “chance with you,” and “like you’re god”!

“dopamine”: “I feel ‘dopamine’ is a song unlike any other I have written before. It makes me remember times that I am not sure I ever had. Interesting how memories stay with us, and how they linger in our minds. I wonder how different the reality of the experiences really were from the memories they casted. I was too busy enjoying or hating the experience to film it.”
“chance with you”: “‘chance with you’ was inspired by an evening I didn’t realize was so impactful on my life, until a few years later. I played the opening chord of the song. and I was thrown back to that evening. The choices I made, the feelings I felt were as vivid as if they were happening right before my eyes. I followed the inspiration and it led me to this piece.”
“like you’re god”: “‘like you’re god’ is visceral desire. Passion, love, respect, perhaps a little fear. Butterflies. Perhaps something even more dangerous. It is the many textures of sexuality that are living in all of us – some inhibited, some not. I believe this song has a beautiful life ahead that it has yet to live.”

With grace, glistening sonics, and an unfiltered honesty that hits hard and leaves an instant, lasting mark, Sofia Machray is without a doubt an artist-to-watch moving forward.”

“Between Now & Then”: “‘Between Now & Then’ is a song dedicated to my hometown and upbringing. I grew up in a cozy cottage that backed off right onto the riverside, in Arrowtown, New Zealand. I drew a lot of my inspiration from the mountains into my songwriting and how I co-existed with them. The song is about the deep connection I had to my childhood home and having to come to terms with it being sold and then having to navigate a new meaning of home.”
“Petals In The Rain”: “‘Petals In The Rain’ explores themes of self-discovery and growth through overcomings. When writing this song I was processing some of my first losses, heartbreak, and letting go of old friendships that were no longer serving me whilst navigating adulthood. I’m only 23, so I barely feel like an adult. But there was a lot to learn through these experiences in terms of self-discovery, I felt I’ve learned more about my
