Our Story
The Galdr House production company began in late 2017, with the urgency to translate important literature onto the Big Screen. The central ambition: to inspire and transform minds through innovative storytelling. The decision was made to focus on the Arthouse genre, as it best matched the innovative approach.
Founded and led by director Jacob E. Sipes, the Galdr House team continues to work tirelessly to achieve its unique narratives. With two films produced in the two years since its founding, the company seeks to continue this prolific rate. The company’s third film, The Meaning of Red, has joyfully arrived into preproduction and is due Summer 2020. The company’s second and co-produced film, Skinned Tom (dir. Tayne Kim), a frightening folk tale, was well-received by audiences on Halloween 2018. A Truth She Feared, the company’s first film released Summer 2018, has received awards and critical acclaim; it is currently playing internationally at select theatres.
