“I’ve been ruminating on the role of skepticism in public discourse and in our own worldview building. I wonder if I could benefit from just a dash more skepticism about my own perspective on reality… Not because I shouldn’t trust myself, but because my access to information is currently tied to the financial glut of a few wealthy folks. Something about that freaks me out.”

Nelson: “Shosha gate is a psychedelic musical experience that is about my visit to Shoshazen Engyoji in Himeji, Japan in 2023. You take a cable car up to the middle of Mt. Shosha and then a little atv bus deeper into the forest up to the peak where there are nine ancient buddhist temples (the first one was built around 970ad). I encourage anyone to look up more about Maniden (the main temple) and the legends surrounding it. The samples of the cicadas are from that very day. It is one of the most transcendent experiences I have ever had. There are phrases of 14 and 16 beats if you listen closely! That’s for the music heads;) The way a place can change and shape you instantaneously is a theme of the song in general. This is an approximation of what it felt like to visit this sacred place from my perspective.”
