Fantastic news: Gloria will not be on the plane tonight!!:) Big thanks to everyone who contacted their MP & the airline. HOWEVER Marlyn and Marlon's flights are not cancelled so we need to keep the pressure on.

Gloria Namuzungu, the 22 year old gay woman who has been detained in Yarl's Wood, has waivered her anonymity because she is so determined to fight this deportation.

She wanted to thank you all for your amazing support. She is still scheduled to be deported TODAY but there are three actions you can take to prevent this:

1) If you are in London TODAY and have an hour to spare between 12.30-13.30/can join us on your lunch break, we will meet outside Harrods and go to the Qatar Airway's ticket desk on the 1st floor to protest and demand that they refuse to fly Gloria back to a place where she will be in danger. We are protesting here because a previous deportation has been stopped after a protest at the Qatar ticket desk.

2) Call Qatar Airlines on 0330 024 0125 and quote Gloria’s flight number QR16 to Doha at 21:55 connecting with Qr1387 to Entebbe, Uganda. Calmly and politely explain why Gloria Namuzungu cannot be sent back to Uganda (she is gay and has a girlfriend in the UK, she is at risk of violence and discrimination, her name has been circulated in Ugandan press, the HO has not given her enough time to submit her evidence or have legal representation, this is unlawful). If possible, ask for the pilot to be copied into any email correspondence, or to speak to them directly.
Airlines are allowed to refuse to fly someone. This has worked before-it can feel disheartening - the airline will no doubt say there's nothing they can do etc. but actually they do respond to the pressure & bad publicity so don't give up!

3) Contact Qatar Airlines on twitter and facebook (https://www.facebook.com/qatarairways). Model tweet/post:
