We just core aerated the lawn in the #GreenMarkDemonstrationGarden! Why? Because doing so alleviates compaction from feet, paws, lawn furniture, etc. A lawn aerator looks like a very large mower but instead of cutting grass, it removes 2-inch soil coils from the turf. This allows air, water and nutrients to reach grass roots - so lawns thrive.
