We can’t get enough of breakfast! 🥞 🍳

The Breakfast Blondes 👱 👱‍♀️ are back with our August breakfast stop. We tried and were we ever impressed! This place is a MUST TRY! Adorable atmosphere, yet not too cutesy for a bunch of manly-looking men to be dining there while we were. Very fun menu, and I love that they offer special syrups (like Oklahoma-made Griffin).

We felt like pigging 🐷 out, so we went with the “piggie” menu 🤣

I tried the Piggie Crepe 📸2-Filled with scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, cheddar and chives. It comes with one side, and I chose the pancake 🥞 📸4

Bernie tried the Piggie Quiche 📸3- baked daily with ham, bacon, sausage, chives and cheddar. It also comes with one side, and she chose the cheese grits.

Wrap-up of our experiences:
-The Piggy Quiche was dense and the homemade crust made it extra special
-The Piggy Crepes and pancake were fantastic
-The cheese grits melt in your mouth
-Food was piping hot
-Service was excellent
-The pastries in the case were enticing!

We’ll be back to this breakfast spot again, no doubt!

📸3- Honey Chipotle Meatloaf - CLASSIC MEATLOAF WITH BRAISED CABBAGE, MASHED POTATOES, BROCCOLI, A CHIPOTLE HONEY GLAZE AND CRISPY FRIED ONIONS.
📸4- Crab Cake Club Sandwich - pressed crab cake lemon garlic aioli, arugula, Beefsteak Tomato, and candied bacon

The bacon on the crab cake sandwich was amazing! Also super impressed by the quality of crab cakes in this land-locked state! The meatloaf (especially the glaze) was spot-on!

Beautiful atmosphere, great menu. Will be back!

Consistently delicious food and great service is always the MO at .grill! 👏👏👏
📸1- Fig and Walnut Pasta with Gorgonzola- Garlic toasted in Olive Oil with Figs, Walnuts and Basil tossed in Linguine and sprinkled with Gorgonzola. Plus edible flower 🌺 😜
📸2- Lemon and Nut Crusted Halibut - Alaskan Halibut baked in a Walnut, Almond and Lemon Crust, accented with a Sweet-Chile Remoulade

Such a delicious meal in a relaxing atmosphere! 😋

We had the absolute best time checking out this weekend! It’s the cutest old gas-station-turned-bar I’ve ever laid eyes on! We tried several tasty cocktails 🍹, including the Kahiki Kai (📸1) and the Pink Donkey (📸3). We also chowed down on some Boujee Tots (📸2), which would pass the Napoleon Dynamite tots test taste 💯 with flying colors.

This is a great new addition to the Tulsa scene with plenty of seating inside and outside. We will definitely be back!

Three things about I learned on this miraculously perfect Oklahoma weather July day!:

1. The beautiful new elephant 🐘 preserve barn is open 🥳 The remainder of the Oxley Family Elephant Experience and Elephant Preserve is expected to open fully to the public in early 2025.
2. This week is National Zoo Keeper Week. Shout out to all of you at our amazing zoo folks who keep our animals thriving!
3. Posing at the iconic zoo spots like the wagon from the 1890s (📸) was fun when I was a kid, and it’s still fun for my kids now. 😊💙💙

I was yesterday years old when I learned there is a in ! Highly recommend this chill spot to catch a couple drinks and a bite! Our drinks of choice were an Old Fashioned and Key Lime 🍋‍🟩 Ice. I especially loved the graham cracker and caramel rim on the Key Lime Ice! 🍸

The Breakfast Blondes 👱‍♀️ 👱 went diner-style for our July breakfast. If you missed the memo, we’re trying a different breakfast spot each month of 2024. 🍳 🥓

Curiosity drew us to . I had tried this place 15ish years ago back when the only location was the one in , which has been reconstructed after fire damage a few years back. Now they have FIVE area locations, and we went to the one at 61st & Mingo.

I’ll say right off the bat that the star 🌟 of the show was the Apple Pancake 🥞that Bernie and I shared. Delicious cinnamon apples and whipped cream topped a huge, fluffy pancake! I noticed a couple other apple-themed items on the menu, like the apple crepe.

My selection wasn’t my fave — it just set too heavy. I chose the Snowcone - fluffy biscuits piled high with eggs and two sausage patties covered with white pepper gravy and cheddar cheese. Served with hash browns.

Bernie’s was very tasty, and she was wise to only eat half of it - the Chorizo Sausage Skillet - 🍳 spicy chorizo sausage, onions, tomato, jalapeño, cheddar cheese, served with salsa and sour cream. 🌶️

Apple 🍎 Barrel Cafe ☕️ has a very old school diner feel. It’s the kind of place you’ll find grandmas and grandpas enjoying a meal 🥘. I was kind of surprised to discover that they’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a very expansive menu, featuring salads, sandwiches, burgers and more!

We had THE BEST time checking out .baok for the first time! This is an amazing addition to 💯!

This place is teeming with locally produced baked goods, breakfast and lunch items, frozen and refrigerated food items to take home, jewelry, coffee, soda and more! My kids absolutely loved their treats: Luke chose a Strawberry and Fig Pop Tart, and Jude chose Chocolate Banana Bread. And my coffee was perfection. ☕️ 🥮 🍞

This is a great place to pass a couple hours with or without kiddos. I love that they open at 7 am, because maybe you’re like me, with children who arise before the break of dawn and are 0 to 60! 🚗 🤪

Every item made in their kitchen is made without:
• seed oils / inflammatory oils
• artificial dyes
• harmful food dyes

What’s not to love about that?🩷❤️

I also loved the “imagination stations” they have for little kids, and the collection of board games! What a treasure 💎 right here in !

OK folks … the Breakfast Blondes have been going to do a different breakfast spot each month in 2024 … and June’s stop was officially MY favorite (so far): BBD or Brookside By Day on . There’s a reason this has been a popular breakfast place since 1991: Because it’s freaking delicious!😋 I also love that you have the option to sit on the patio that’s right on Brookside.

You can also find the same delicious menu at their second location at 81st and Harvard,

📸3: Bernie ordered one of the Chalkboard Specials: the Sausage, onion, bell pepper, cheddar and scramble with a side of home fries and a pancake (just a $1 up charge for the pancake side, not bad). I was amazed at how fluffy the pancake was. Melt in your mouth goodness!
📸4: I ordered the Basic Murrito (scrambled eggs, sausage, green onions & cheddar wrapped in flour tortilla & served with fresh guacamole, sour cream, homemade salsa & home fries). So so good! I will be back for this!

We had a great experience. My only comment (not saying this is good or bad, just an FYI for future patrons of BBD) is that they do put a 20% gratuity on every check.

My husband and I loved our first visit to .chophouse! We are so thankful to have a quality steakhouse in our neck of the woods in south Tulsa! Photos didn’t do the menus justice … but they are literally lit, people! 💡 I love that because sometimes it’s just so hard to read a menu in dimly lit restaurants!

📸4: Our cocktails were divine! I failed to jot down the names of them. 🤦‍♀️

My husband also had a steak, but he had devoured half of it before I thought to get a pic 😅

Overall, it was a great meal, and everything seemed pretty reasonably priced for semi-fine dining. 👏🤩

I have decided that few things make me happier than the Afternoon Tea 🫖 , so that is how I proceeded to spend my birthday. 🥳 I was so honored that Pamela, who shares my exact birthday, joined in, along with Kathy and Bernie. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this decadent, unrushed tradition and the seemingly endless courses of sweet and savory treats (not all pictured here!). Literally the only choice you have to make is what tea you’ll be having. Sit back and enjoy seasonal delicacies. Reservations are required, and tea is served Tuesday-Friday starting at 2 pm.

I’ll be honest and say I have judged this book by its cover. I’ve driven by the last couple years and scoffed, “All you can eat sushi?! 🍱 Bleh 🤮!”

I tried this place yesterday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. There is no sus sushi buffet. There are legit sushi chefs preparing the “all you can eat” portion in a way that is organized and delivered hygienically to your table.

I wanted to sample a little this and a little that, so the bento box was the perfect option for me. I especially loved the spicy tuna sushi and the beef teriyaki.

For an appetizer, we tried the Sushi Tacos 📸3 (they look more like nachos to me, but they were delicious nonetheless). We were also given some Salmon Tempura (📸5) on the house. It was very tasty!

I really thought their sushi was tasty and a good bang for the buck. $32 gets an adult all you can eat sushi - with a very large menu to choose from. My bento box was $15, which I thought was a great deal. I would definitely go back!👏 🍣

PSA: 📣 In case you haven’t noticed, our river is looking mighty fine these days! I love the water in it!😜🎉🎉🎉 So many exciting things coming in the months to come with … The Big Dam Party on Aug. 30, beautiful lights on the Williams Crossing Pedestrian Bridge (which will open Labor Day weekend)… what a great time to be a Tulsan!👏👏👏 Thank you to all you amazing leaders who have worked hard to make our river beautiful! It truly looks the best it has in my lifetime. 🥰

Always a tasty lunch at this adorable French cafe, Le Louvre near 81st and Memorial. 🇫🇷 My favorite is the Croque Monsieur (📸1). And I can never leave without a Cafe Viennois (📸2-the creamiest, most decadent coffee in !)

The owner/chef is from Versailles, so this is authentic French cooking, folks! Their pastries are always a real treat as well.

My friend tried the Salade Chèvre et Miel- salad mix with goat cheese on baguette. The perfect mix of healthy and a little not as healthy! 🥖 🧀

recently started serving dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, which I look forward to trying soon! 😋

One of the quintessential breakfast destinations in Tulsa is undoubtedly … the Breakfast Blondes’ 👱 👱‍♀️ May Breakfast stop! It’s one of the best patios in too - located right in the ❤️ of !

📸2: I tried the Breakfast Sandwich - fried egg with ham and cheddar, served on an English muffin, with breakfast potatoes
📸3: Bernie tried Shea’s Avocado Toast - Smashed avocado on grilled sourdough topped with marinated tomatoes and everything bagel seasoning, and she added a fried egg.

Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. The breakfast potatoes were perfection. I cannot stress enough that if it’s a good weather day, dining on the patio at Wild Fork is A MUST!

This place is a Tulsa tradition! I love it for every meal!

Maple Ridge Grocer Take 2 🎬… This time, dinner!
I just love this retro-vibe neighborhood restaurant. It offers every meal of the day, including creative cocktails and coffees.

The Swordfish and Charred Cabbage are part of a seasonal menu, so they won’t be around much longer! Everything was fresh, tasty, and locally sourced. If you haven’t visited this new restaurant, make it a priority!🙌

The Breakfast Blondes 👱‍♀️ 👱 are back with our April breakfast spot! We’re checking out a different breakfast restaurant each month of 2024 because BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY! 🍳 🥓 And because THE WORLD NEEDS MORE BACON! There, I said it!

This time, it was Brookside Diner! I tried the Brookside Skillet (📸2): HUGE plate of eggs, bacon, ham, peppers, onions and tomatoes, and I chose a side of biscuits and gravy. Don’t judge; I like my breakfasts the Okie way! 🤠

Bernie chose the Skinny Spinach Omelet (📸3): four egg whites, bacon, spinach, Swiss cheese, and she topped it with an avocado). I’m glad we can still be friends even though we’re clearly night and day different when it comes to our dietary choices. 😅😝

It was both of our first time there, and we were really pleased with our experience! The place was very full🌞, so it’s clear they have a lot of regulars. The service was great, and I would definitely go back to try more of their breakfast staples!

2024 is the Year of Breakfast (for us at least!), and our March breakfast stop did not disappoint! Bramble has three area locations, and The Breakfast Blondes went to the Pearl District (6th & Peoria) location. Bernie tried the Everything Turkey Avocado Benedict (📸1): English muffin, avocado spread, turkey, poached eggs, hollandaise, everything seasoning, dill), and I tried the Bramwich Bowl (📸3): two eggs your way, cheddar, biscuit, sausage, breakfast potatoes, peppers, onion).

Everything was tasty, their atmosphere is fun, and they have an inventive menu. I want to go back and try a mimosa flight sometime! (4 mini mimosas). One of their favorite items that I didn’t have on this occasion is the Bourbon & Pecan Pancakes - yum! I also really love Bramble’s Broken Arrow location … it’s inside an old church, and they have retained the old stained glass windows.

We had the loveliest late Valentine’s brunch 💕.tulsa today! We loved seeing this recently repurposed building living up to its full potential as a trendy hotel! Soma is located on the rooftop (no we didn’t eat outside in the sub-freezing 🥶 temps). Our table had a great view of downtown and the river. I tried the Sunrise Sando (📸1), and Devon tried the Avocado Toast (📸4). Absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere. This place will be going on our regular restaurant rotation! Love all of the great new additions to the Tulsa restaurant scene!

2024 is the Year of Breakfast for Tulsa Places! We are checking out a different breakfast spot each month this year, because breakfast is the most important meal of the day 💪 Since we tried the oldest breakfast place in town last month, , The Breakfast Blondes 👱‍♀️👱‍♀️decided to try the newest breakfast place this month! That landed us at Maple Ridge Grocer… which ironically, has an old feel! The vibe is relaxed retro. This is the type of place Don Draper would sip his latte and eat his breakfast. ☕️

Bernie tried a Vanilla Latte and the Breakfast Sandwich (two eggs, spiced mayo, sesame bun, cheddar cheese, choice of meat… but she’s going meatless for Lent… so no meat for her)!

I tried the Breakfast Burrito (egg, hollandaise, cheese, spinach, potato, ham, green onion), and a drip coffee.

Maple Ridge Grocer, along with its new neighbor, , is part of the , so you know it’s going to be quality. Every bite of our breakfast was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable and classy, and the service was impeccable. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and also offer a nice cocktail / beer / wine menu.

Highly recommend this adorable new addition to !

We finally made it over to Islas Kitchen… and the verdict is in… We ❤️ Isla’s! Southern cooking + Justin Thompson ownership = a match made in foodie heaven.

Absolutely love this little sandwich shop in Broken Arrow, ! They are my SANDWICH JAM 💯! My cute friends (who I forced to smile for this photo!) loved it too! Perfect for catering sandwiches to a business lunch or family gathering!
Photo 2: Tomato soup & The Bobbie (homemade turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and mayo ... it's like Thanksgiving in a sandwich!)
Photo 3: Cheese Steak ... their Cheese Steak is prepared with grilled choice steak, mushrooms, onions, white American cheese and choice of hot or sweet peppers. SO GOOD!
