Haven’t washed the car this weekend like most of adults seem to do on Sundays but made a mess with clay instead, visited , found a secret boggy creak, crossed a line or two and to add cherry on the top, we stuffed our faces at 🥰🇮🇩

I think the pictures say it all 😂

Meet the bonkers club...
I mean it... 2000 miles flight to sign a book, 300-mile drive through 4 different seasons- from indoor tropical paradise to a snow storm in Bath and we have managed to do it all in 24 hours between the flights ✈️😂 and no hoomans were harmed!

And I do have to say this... A few British staples got a Polish stamp of approval 😁...

Anyway... New day, old us, let’s go back to pickles for breakfast 😂

After a few freezing hours, multiple pot-holes, night drivers that clearly found their driving licences in Cheetos packets, after ALMOST getting hit on a 10m long slip road by a lory at 60mph and being flashed at, beeped and tailed by a local on a pitch-dark country road in the middle of nowhere, we made it home safely with this 😭💚

Was it worth it?

Coffee vs houseplants ☕️🌱

Since I work with coffee and I live in an indoor tropical forest, I decided it’s time to address this incredibly common question...

Should you put coffee on your houseplant?

Three main reasons that make this concept so appealing is the fact that caffeine is a natural insecticide, and is meant to increase acidity and nutrient content in soil. Did you know that tropical bois aka every houseplant ever, prefer a little more acidic environment of 6pH?

Now...
Research shows that plants cultivated in agricultural soils amended with coffee had significantly higher levels of several essentials- nitrogen, potassium, iron, copper, zink- and the increase in biomass was observed, meaning “BOIS GOT BIG”.

However...
What isn’t often mentioned is the fact that before you start using your coffee as a fertiliser, you should allow it to decompose first in a compost pile!

You see, organic matter needs to be decomposed first (through composting) to make individual nutrients they hold available to plants. To do so add coffee to a compost pile, wait a few months and then make a compost tea 😉

Also, coffee is toxic to most animals apart from great apes (yes, us- go any high street on Saturday evening and you’ll agree 😆) so if your kitty cat or doggo munches on it, you’re risking a lot.

And aaaaalso, wet coffee goes mouldy QUICK!

As much as I am all in for biofortification and organic fertilisers, those kitchen recipes are generally based on garden folklore and can quickly cause a cascade of damage if not understood and used correctly.

Kasia Bluy is a founder of Life Full of Beans, a modern-day media and coffee academy, and the active head trainer for Monsoon Estates, one of the top UK's roasters.

Despite a successful career in science, after identifying the need for a great cup to be accessible to a broader audience, Kasia transitioned her passion and experience into a multi-platform business, that helps individuals just like you. Only last year, Life Full of Beans assisted over 1500 coffee lovers in running their businesses and growing their skills and passion.

A happy incident

After years spent in management in the science and coffee industry, Kasia decided she wants to do less bureaucracy and work more with people. She is one of the people that constantly raise the bar higher before anyone sees the point. She started working as a barista trainer for an independent coffee chain and got in charge of social media and social presence of the brand.

She started building training programs for baristas, the enthusiast that she came across, for businesses that wanted to improve their brand presence, finances or skills and increase the sales. After less than half a year, she became a full-time coffee consultant, capable of helping to create a brand from scratch.

Monsoon Time

It all changed when one day, she met Chris. Father Monsoon as she calls him. Within a few minutes, she realised that they are very much alike. With a solid experience base and Monsoon Estates Coffee Company, everything she wanted to create, suddenly became more real than ever.

Monsoon enabled and encouraged Kasia to progress. They introduced Kasia to hundreds of people in the need of understanding what great coffee is- something that this growing coffee company, never had enough time to do.

Meeting Chris, Anne, Will, and the rest of the Monsoon started a lot more than just a strong business. It started a family.

In those uncertain times, Kasia continues to deliver knowledge and training to those, who want to invest in their passion becoming a little bit more. Life full of Beans grows bigger every day, together with its followers. We focus on utilizing social platforms, online learning programs, and running regular live sessions to deliver all the knowledge where necessary and make people fall in love with coffee, over and over again.
