Ghost Warships™ is very excited to launch our new Youtube channel with our first episode featuring the Second Battle of Guadalcanal.

The Imperial Japanese Navy attempted to dominate territories in the Pacific including the Solomon Islands using a fleet of warships led by the Battleship IJN Kirishima and her sister ship the IJN Hiei.

In the first battle the American task force was pounded by the superior firepower of the Japanese including their 14 inch guns. In response the Americans sent 2 of their newest Battleships the USS South Dakota and the USS Washington to intercept the Japanese fleet. During the intense night battle the USS South Dakota was quickly taken out of action but the USS Washington was prepared to deliver vengeance with her 16 inch guns.

Please clear your mind and let yourself go back in time to November of 1943 and prepare to relive this intense and destructive sea battle between two legendary Ghost Warships™.

Hello Ghost Warships™ fans!! We are in final preparations to launch our media channel with our first video episode featuring the epic saga of the battle between the Imperial Japanese Naval Force IJN Karishima and the U.S. Navy's newest battleship the USS Washington. This is truly one of the most incredible stories ever in naval warfare.

We expect to launch soon and we invite you to be amongst the first to view our video. We trust it will do honor to the ships, crews and this historic battle. A link will be uploaded here.

We are a very special and unique community of warship enthusiasts and we are grateful to have you as part of our crew while we set sail on this voyage together.

Announcing our first episode in a series of documentaries!! We will feature an in depth look at the Second Battle of Guadalcanal with a focus on the Japanese Fast Battleship IJN Kirishima and the American Battleship USS Washington. This involved one of the last ever Battleship vs Battleship engagements and showcases the devastating power and destructive capabilities of these incredible Ghost Warships™.

The ship hasn't left the waterfront in more than 20 years. She will dry-dock for major work in Philadelphia before returning.

Here’s a highly anticipated update on the Ghost Warship USN BB-35 Battleship Texas!! It would be amazing to travel there to do a dock tour!!

But first…a historical fact about this venerable war machine: Launched May 18, 1912, she fired the first American shots in anger during WW 1.

Hello fellow fans of Ghost Warships™!! Today we present an amazing color video of Japanese naval gunships and other ships from their arsenal in World War ll. Its striking to see these massive war machines silent in repose after violent destruction. At one time these ships were alive with men and activity engaging in maneuvers during battle but now their guns and engines are silent and rust has begun to take over their once mighty hulls.

‘The Heavyweight Punch’ by Geoff Hunt shows the leading three ships of the Royal Navy’s windward column sailing into battle, Victory, followed by Temeraire and Neptune.

What a day of historical power!! The Japanese delegates boarded our beautiful battleship Missouri and realized basically “what the hell were we thinking???”

When you visit the Ghost Warship BB-63 USS Missouri you can see where a Japanese Kamakaze Pilot crashed his plane into her side and exploded bouncing off and leaving only a scratch.

These photos are amazing and capture the end of WWll. If only humanity could learn from our past…..

There is a majestic beauty yet awesome power to this image of the Battleship USS Texas sitting in dry dock again. This incredible Ghost Warship™ deserves to be brought back to its ultimate glory. Updates will be posted here on the official Ghost Warships™ page.

USS Texas sits out of the water for the first time in many decades. This dreadnought era battleship that fired her guns at the German fortifications on D-Day is the last of her kind. She now begins a 2 year multi million dollar yard period that will see her hull almost completely removed and replaced as well as many other repairs.

Ghosts of the Battlefield is a nonprofit educational organization devoted to preserving the history of the American military from 1900 to present. Located in beautiful Virginia Beach the gallery is open to the public. Featuring many displays of artifacts and vehicles, we also offer identification and restoration services of military and antique weapons and equipment.

War stories are gratefully accepted and most cherished.
