I had the opportunity to teach 3 classes at the Makerplace kitchen and we made No Bake Nutella Cheesecakes with strawberries! 🍓 It was awesome getting to know new faces, seeing a couple return students from my first class, and having a marathon day filled with sweets, laughter, and mason jars.
Being able to do 3 cooking classes in one day took a village. It was only because my in-laws watched our kids, came to help me with my first 2 classes (we failed to take a pic together), and helped me with my 3rd. She even rescued with me with an emergency run! And big shoutout to Emily from the library who has now helped me with 5 classes in total. We make a great team and always have fun!
Doing these classes hurt my feet and made me unintentionally fall asleep on the couch when I got home, but they they also filled my heart with joy and made me feel like I was back in action! Cheers to the Arlington Heights Library for inviting me back. And thanks to the students who already followed us on our socials to stay connected. It was great spending time together with you! 🫶🏼
Getting ready to teach 3 cooking classes today at Makerplace kitchen and I’m getting pumped! 👩🏻🍳 I’m excited to be invited back for my 2nd time teaching there 🫶🏼. Made tasting batches of my No Bake Nutella Cheesecakes for nearly 50 people so they can immediately nibble on what they create instead of having to wait for 2 hours for it to set. I feel a little weird posting this after celebrating that one of our recipe videos JUST reached 1 million views…woo hoo! 🔥But this is also a part of our story…and it helps explain why I was out of commission for the past 2 years! I posted a fresh NEW video of my Bell’s Palsy journey while I was pregnant at 40 - which was the start of my chronic illness story. The good news is that I’m slowly on the mend…from everything…and even with setbacks I feel good enough to start filming again soon 🎥. Give it a watch - especially if you want to know where I’ve been this entire time haha 🤣. It was hard to post about any of this until now, but there’s healing in sharing your story ❤️.
One of our videos has finally reached 1 million views! ⭐️ I was totally caught off guard when I saw that number under our video just now 😲. These are my thoughts:
1. You cannot predict or control what will take off:
- I never planned for this recipe or video to do well. We made it on the fly while we were painting our condo on a very hot summer day without much planning. I was sweating buckets because turning on the AC would’ve made it too loud and it would’ve been picked up on the mic. So I kept running out of my kitchen to blot my face and cool down. I felt cranky while filming it and didn’t want to post it.
2. There is power in “evergreen” content:
-This was NOT an overnight success. This was filmed 8 years ago, but people are still finding it, watching it, and we are still earning income on it today. We never had a video go viral or take off, but this slow and steady growth through the years still makes me proud that we can create content that stays relevant even through the test of time 🥲.
3. I’m ready to film again 🎥:
-I was out of commission for a couple years from pregnancy, postpartum life, and then chronic illness, so I felt like my time had passed and my YouTube days were behind me. But these days we’ve been planning behind the scenes to start up again, and this is a nice little welcome back gift just at the right time. Thanks for supporting and watching our videos through the years ❤️
Not all of you know that I have been dealing with some chronic illness and pain for the past two years, stemming from my Bell's Palsy to what I'm still dealing with today. But you may have noticed that I hadn't been posting on YouTube or even here for a while - over a year to be exact, and I have just recently started to creep out of hibernation mode to rejoin the world and share my story. Things are getting better now, but I do still suffer from some kind of pain almost daily. I'm just learning how to manage the symptoms better and even prevent them sometimes. Even though I initially wanted to let this time in my life just pass by unnoticed and unmentioned, I changed my mind and decided to share openly - in hopes that anyone who can relate to what I'm going through would feel slightly less alone ❤️. Well…I did it! 💪I put on my apron after a year long break from working (to take care of our baby) and did my first cooking classes at the Arlington Heights Library Makerplace Kitchen. Did two 2-hour classes back-to-back and it was a very long day, but I feel so accomplished! Thank you for having me! And thanks to my amazing assistants and Emily from the library. It takes a dream team - and dreamy they were! 💯
Had a wonderful time and met lovely people. Gonna post a blog entry and vlog on our YouTube channel about my experience! I was super nervous beforehand, but once I got behind the stove and saw all the smiling faces, it all came flooding back. Now I'm pumped to keep on going and start filming again - or maybe even teach more classes!
Feels good to get back in the game and do what I love ❤️. Thanks for all the prayers and support from friends who were rooting me on...I felt covered in love that day 🫶.

I’m not even sure what’s going on with this year, but I feel overwhelmed with so much ❤️ for my birthday this year.
No huge party or trip - like for my 40th…no big date night out alone with the hubs (2 young kids)…but this random birthday is turning out to be so special.
From a couple meals with friends, to some kid-free time thanks to …to thrifting (my fave) and even a surprise (watch my stories or bday highlight), how could I not be overcome with gratitude?
Is it because as I get older I’m becoming more thankful? It could be. A few years ago, I prayed that I would be satisfied and grateful for the “mundane and the every day.” Over the years, God has graciously chipped away at me and answered that prayer.
There are still hard days, not-so-proud whiny moments, and daily struggles too, but I’m truly thankful for precious moments like these that remind me that His grace is enough ❤️.

Can’t believe our “Yoonicorn” rainbow baby is one! 🦄🌈🎂. It zipped by so fast to the point where I didn’t even have time to plan a real “dohl” like we did for Lincoln, but I still tried my best to make it special and memorable. This was a candid shot before the “party” started and I just love her so much. Taylor, you bring sunshine, joy, humor, and youth to our family☀️. You are so beloved because you are silly, smart, sweet, and a little cray 🤪. You are the daughter of our dreams and the sister Lincoln always wanted. I love when you remind me of my own recipes! ❤️Just received this YouTube comment and I was like oh yeah! These easy mini no-bake pumpkin cheesecakes use up leftover canned pumpkin you might have lying around, and they don’t take additional oven space to make 👍. They can even be made in advance…which is a bonus in my book these days (because newborn life). Lincoln stole the show making this with me in the video, and he actually enjoyed eating it…which I was nervous about because he was trying it for the first time on camera - and the kid can’t hide it if he doesn’t like something (way to keep your chef mom humble). This year I won’t be able to cook the whole Thanksgiving dinner like I usually like to do, because now we have a newborn 🥱. But one thing I am absolutely going to make are these savory sausage stuffed mushrooms. It is a beloved appetizer/ side dish that has become tradition. Last year I didn’t make them, and needless to say, there were some disappointments 😢haha. Try them this year especially if you’re doing Thanksgiving potluck style. You can even assemble them in advance, which is most likely what I’ll be doing, cuz that’s the only way I can handle things this year. What is your must-have Thanksgiving side dish? I especially love rewatching this recipe video because Lincoln is chowing down on these mushrooms even as a toddler…and you know kids don’t lie about food ❤️.

Confession: I bought this foldable baby mat from ALDI USA about a year before I even became pregnant…with the hopes of one day having a baby girl. I felt silly and almost embarrassed to do it, but you know I can’t resist the “Aldi Finds” section and a good deal…so I guess I bought it in faith ❤️. It’s been a crazy sleepless month, but our little Taylor has been a joy and a blessing to our family. When I put her on this mat today, I had to pause and remember what I was feeling that day when I was standing in the aisle, deciding whether or not to buy it, and wondering if it was ever going to be put to use. I may have not slept much last night, but this morning, seeing this mini moment made me nothing but thankful ❤️
