Rare chance to see the whole band play in their home town and they will be playing songs from all three records along with new songs from the forthcoming album ‘Small Wonders’.

Starry Skies are Warren Starry Sky, Johnny Moondial, Heather Phillips, Jen McKee, Adam Scott, Sophie Pragnell & Mike Harrison.

The band recently released third album 'Do it with Love' with singles from the album featuring on neatly 100 radio shows across the world and the title track being BBC Radio Scotland’s single of the week.

DIWL was the follow up to 2018’s ‘Be Kind’ album, produced and engineered by Glasgow musical luminaries Johnny Smillie (Thrum) / Stevie Jackson (Belle & Sebastian).

Starry Skies music has been particularly well received in the USA and in November 2018 they played the Saturday night headline slot at the IPO Festival in New York. While there they recorded live sessions for WFMU & Heat FM.

Tracks from their albums have been played regularly in Germany, France, Canada and Argentina plus a range of stations from the Western Isles to Tennessee.

Robin Miller – Beelines released today on Fox Star Records.

‘Beelines’ features thirteen tracks of deft melody-driven fingerpicking. It is a natural sound with little adornment and an effortless way in simultaneous melody and open-tuned chordal parts.

The tracks hint at the holy trinity of 60s British fingerstyle guitar (Bert Jansch, Davy Graham, John Renbourn), display a touch of Hebridean heritage and bring in influences from around the world.

The title track ‘Beelines’ references Robin’s father’s lifelong beekeeping passion. The Moorish ‘Jessie’s Kaftan’ started life in Glasgow and was completed after a trip to Morocco.

‘Rainer’, the next single from the album is a moving slide guitar tribute to the much missed Arizona musician Rainer Ptacek.

‘Tigh-na-Beart’ and ‘Birthe Marie Sails to Lunga’ reference the western isles – the metallic ‘Wyre Majestic’ is a musical sketch of the famous rusting shipwreck caught on the rocks between Islay and Jura.

“Although the album is instrumental I had fairly clear ideas about what I wanted each tune to say emotionally or in relation to the musicians who have inspired me. I hope that this can be wordlessly conveyed to anyone listening – hopefully the melodies and emotion come across more than the technique.

We are delighted to release Robin Miller's - Debut Solo Single
'Catriona's Butterfly Wish' today. Robin Miller was born on South Uist and grew up in a remote part of the Hebridean island of Islay.

“Half the island would go to the monthly cattle auctions – these started off with livestock, moved onto furniture, and finished with the auctioning of smaller second hand goods like records – this is how I first heard Bert Jansch and Nick Drake"

Moving to Glasgow in his late teens, Robin busked at night loving the "sound of the guitar bouncing off the buildings and empty streets” and played with folk bands eventually touring in France and Italy as a session player.

'Catriona's Butterfly Wish' is his first single from the forthcoming 'Beelines' album which will be released by Fox Star Records later this Summer. Robin recorded the album in a single afternoon session with no overdubs.

Robin creates a natural beautiful sound with little adornment and has an effortless way in simultaneous melody and rich open-tuned chordal parts.

The track references the holy trinity of 60s British fingerpicking (Jansch, Renbourn, Graham) and displays more than hint of Hebridean heritage while reflecting influences from around the world.

This is contemporary roots guitar playing at his best – eclectic, warm and soulful.
