Gainesville Sport Commission & Touching Hearts at Home present 2022 Gainesville Pickleball Championship
Two-day Pickleball Showcase Raised Approximately $5,000 for ElderCare of Alachua County
ALACHUA, FLA - This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 6 & 7, over 140 pickleball players of various ages and skill sets gathered at Legacy Park Indoor Sports Complex for a two-day indoor pickleball tournament to benefit ElderCare of Alachua County. All players and participants donated $10 of their entry fees to benefit the many programs that ElderCare of Alachua County provides to seniors in our local community and to benefit the Alachua County Senior Recreation Center.
In addition, Touching Hearts at Home, a family-owned and operated home care agency, hosted a silent auction with incredible items donated by local businesses. Touching Hearts at Home also donated and sold concessions and "D**k & Drink" Mimosas throughout the tournament with all proceeds benefiting the charity.
Touching Hearts at Home and community partners also donated funds to benefit ElderCare of Alachua County. Sponsors include Touching Hearts at Home, Campus USA Credit Union, Haven Hospice, Lentz & Dodd Financial, Well Florida Council, Inc., and Daurine Wehbe of Coldwell Banker M.M. Parish.
Touching Hearts at Home Executive Director and Administrator, Christina Ramos says "Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the nation, and we love that it's sweeping the nation! We are incredibly blessed to partner with the Gainesville Sport Commission to find such a fun and healthy way to support our community, while having a ton of fun doing so! After all is said and done, approximately $5,000 was raised to benefit ElderCare of Alachua County. That's a win-win in our book!"
