🚨 SCAM 🚨
I’m seeing a lot of these scam posts popping up again lately & thought I’d share a few tips to avoid falling for these!

You’ll see a post that is absolutely meant to tug at your heartstrings such as an injured pet or a missing child or something you really want to spread awareness about like dangerous animals spotted in unlikely areas or people stealing catalytic converters from cars in the area (these are all scams I’ve seen I can’t even make this up)

Of course you’re going to share because you’re a caring person, and unfortunately that’s what these scammers are hoping for. They wait until these posts garner a huge amount of likes and shares and then they edit their post to something completely different. The “updates” I’ve noticed are usually houses for sale/rent for wayyyyy too cheap, cars for sale for way too cheap, illegal dental work etc. & because you’ve shared it, your friends/family may be more inclined to click a link or contact the poster because a trusted person shared the post.

THINGS TO LOOK FOR:

These are almost ALWAYS posted in a buy/sell/trade group, so before you share check where the original post was posted. If it’s in a buy/sell/trade group it’s probably a scam

They usually put a hashtag and then the location with the hopes the people in the area they’re pulling the scam in will see ie.

The comments will be turn off in the original post. Check to see the original post if the comments are off it’s a scam, how are you desperately searching for an owner or parent but don’t want anyone commenting ?

The original poster will either be a brand new account or an account that was hacked and hasn’t posted anything on their page in months.

You can also copy the caption and search it and other posts (most likely with the same pic and caption) will come up

So next time someone comments on your shared post & you don’t remember sharing it, check the edit history on the original post ✨

Just a heads up - there is a rumor going around that “hackers” are adding fake addresses to peoples Amazon accounts to supposedly order items on your dime.

While I did find an address on my account, it’s an actual Amazon Locker in Palmetto. However, Amazon has not issued a clear statement in response to this conspiracy other than denying a security breach. I’m assuming if this were some type of scam and they can access your account to add the pickup location then they can also get the locker code when they need it. However, Amazon could just be auto adding a nearby locker for a pickup option, it’s just strange they wouldn’t mention that feature when Snopes reached out for confirmation on the situation.

In the meantime, I changed my password & set up two-factor authentication & I recommend everyone do the same just in case it is some sort of elaborate scam! ✨

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough about this but all of my artwork is commissioned unless I OFFER to make you something for a trade or a gift. Please don’t be like this weirdo 😂

The Bratz art STARTS at $40 for just the head with no background, font, or added items (ie. Props, pets, etc)

Even if I’m just doing an AI Bratz for you they start at $20 plus revisions because I PAY for my software And it isn’t cheap btw! I already try to make my commissions affordable for everyone but you’re paying for my time, talent & work which is why art is usually priced pretty high. Digital or physical it doesn’t matter it all takes time and digital is actually MORE work for me as I hand draw and then digitally draw them (don’t you worry about my process it works for me Lmao)

Don’t waste my time because I know my worth & if you’re not asking about pricing for a commissioned piece it’s usually because you’re going to ask for it for free 🙄

Get somebody else to do it, respectfully 🖤✨

New phone scam:
This number just called but they were sent to voicemail. This is the voicemail but there is no missing elderly man in Sarasota right now. It sounds like an automated message, not a real person. I’m not sure if they’re just trying to capture peoples voices or what but be aware. Silver alerts are sent to your phone.

Listening to my 4 year old baby describe his first “stranger alarm“ drill at school literally brought me to tears. I’m not sure if it was because of how nonchalant he was about it as he showed me how they have to get under the desks with their hands behind their heads & try to be super quiet or if it was the realization of this being the new norm for kids to have to learn a fire drill alongside an active shooter drill, but it made my heart really sad 😭
