As we welcome in the New Year, we can announce our final award of 2024!

You watched the films on our Vimeo channel and voted in your hundreds. And now we can reveal that the People's Choice is...BONBON TRACK IN CYPRUS.

This beautifully shot wildlife documentary, directed by Olkan Erguler, tells the story of an endangered bird of prey - Bonelli's Eagle - that is struggling to survive in the mountains of Northern Cyprus.

The film shows the efforts of a dedicated group of conservationists who are determined to save this rare species, currently under threat from poisoning and habitat loss.

We had so many great films submitted to our festival this year that it was no surprise that voting for the People's Choice was very close.

In second place was ALLEGED, entered in the Horror/Suspense category by Joe Foster from Nottingham. Taking its inspiration from real-life events, this is a drama about a young woman who survives a bomb attack, only to be confronted by a conspiracy theorist who refuses to believe her story.

In third place was ROCKET GIRL, entered in our Homegrown category by director Anna Cottrill. It tells the story of a young girl who escapes from the real world by using her imagination to build a spaceship in her bedroom.

Three very different films, all displaying the passion and creative skills of the filmmakers.

Everyone who took part in our festival in 2024 can be very proud of their achievements. We hope to see them back in Ealing very soon.

SPOT Marine Life olarak gerçekleştirdiğimiz Hedef Dışı Av Projesi kapsamında Kuzey Kıbrıs genelinde hedef dışı av olarak yanlışlıkla balıkçı ağlarına takılan kaplumbağa oranını azaltmak adına geliştirdiğimiz ve balıkçılarımız ile işbirliği içerisinde çalışarak kullanılan ağ ışıkları çalışmaları BBC World Servisi'ne konu olacak🐢 Ağ ışıkları, SPOT Marine Life öncülüğünde, FishTek firması tarafından geliştiriliyor ve başta deniz kaplumbağaları olmak üzere hem vatoz gibi diğer tehlike altında olan deniz canlılarına hem de balıkçılarımıza UMUT IŞIĞI oldu🙏

Program yarın Kıbrıs saati 10:06, 17:06 ve 00:06'da ve İngiltere saati ile 08:06, 15:06 ve 22:06 yayınlanacak⏱

As part of the Cyprus Bycatch Project conducted by SPOT Marine Life, our work to reduce the number of turtles accidentally caught in fishermen's nets across Northern Cyprus by using net lights developed in collaboration with our fishermen will be featured on BBC World Service🐢 The net lights, developed by FishTek under the leadership of SPOT Marine Life, have become a HOPE for endangered marine animals like sea turtles and rays, as well as for our fishermen🙏

The 2024 Annual Report of The Conservation Collective featured one of our grants, the project "BonBonTrack" by Kuşkor. This projects aims to protect the Bonelli's Eagle, an Annex 1 protected species, by tracking them using satellite tags and gaining as much information as possible to protect it's primary habitats in Cyprus. We are very proud of the team's work and happy that it's highlighted in such an important publication. Η Ετήσια Έκθεση 2024 του Conservation Collective περιλάμβανε μία από τις επιχορηγήσεις μας, το έργο "BonBonTrack" του Kuşkor.
