This was an interesting production to be involved with - recording interviews with survivors of the Christmas Island Nuclear Test Programme. Hearing some really harrowing stories first hand was quite an experience.

Also features my debut attempt at some Voiceover Recording of my own, as an MOD Spokesperson. When I do finally hit the silver screen, you heard me here first... 😆

Over the past month or so I've had the pleasure of recording a second series of Made in Manchester production The Likely Dads for BBC Radio 4, a comedy panel show about parenting from the paternal perspective - with presenter Tim Vincent, regular panelists Mick Ferry and Russell Kane, as well as a variety of guest panelists including Johnny Vegas, Simon Gregson (Steve from Coronation Street), Sanjeev Kohli (Synthesizer Patel) and others.

Late to the party maybe, but have been well impressed with these ASTON Microphones Origins as a stereo pair for drum room mics and much more - a whole lotta mic for the money and a great design that doesn't need a clip or a cradle for quick setups.

Can't afford not to have a pair, and British made at that...

A rack I recently assmbled for an off site mixing collaboaration. Some nice pieces here - the Purple MC77 makes makes everything sound better no matter how much is thrown at it, and the Heritage Audio Neve-style 609 diode bridge compressor and the A Designs Hammer valve stereo EQ have bucketfulls of sonic mojo for group busses as well as the master bus. Should make for a beautiful all analogue processing mixing session.

A recent retaping, contact cleaning and general TLC of a Roland RE-201 Space Echo - probably one of my favourite pieces of kit ever.
