Akufo-Addo hasn’t supported Dormaahene to attack Asantehene
The Presidency has dismissed claims circulating on social media that President Akufo-Addo is supporting the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II to attack the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II
In a Facebook post, the Jubilee House's Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin noted that the assertions are merely figments of some people’s imaginations thus, imploring the populace to treat it with contempt.
( Eugene Arhin January 5 at 7:55 PM )
"Indeed, on no occasion has President Akufo-Addo held a secret meeting with the Dormaahene to, as it were, prop him up to disrespect the Asantehene. No such thing has happened, and no such thing will ever happen," portions of the statement read.
He further noted that President Akufo-Addo will continue to work harmoniously with all traditional leaders in the country until the end of his tenure.

Asantehene destools queen mother of Offinso over gross insubordination
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has destooled the queen mother of the Offinso Traditional Area, Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko over her gross insubordination to the kingdom.
Her destoolment was pronounced on Thursday, January 11, 2024, during the first Asanteman Traditional Council meeting for the year.
Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko becomes the first traditional leader to be destooled by the occupant of the Golden Stool in 2024.
She was destooled following her incessant refusal to appear before Otumfuo after several summons over a series of misconduct.
The newly enstooled chief of Offinso, Nana Dwamena Akenteng II appeared before the Asanteman Council to swear an oath of allegiance when the Asantehene admonished him to find a new queen mother to support his reign and rulership.
“I deliver the town into your hands alone. You have no queen mother. Find a new queen mother to help you undertake your mandate when you have settled down. We need a queen mother who will be present here when we need her,” Otumfuo said.
Offinso stool controversy
The nomination of a new occupant of the Offinso stool was marred by a series of protests between kingmakers in the area.
The stool became vacant following the demise of Nana Wiafe Akenten III on October 2, 2021, at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
The controversy emerged after the queen mother failed for the third time to nominate a qualified royal of the Offinso Royal Family to occupy the stool.
Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko together with other kingmakers had nominated former Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Dr Desmond Kofi Koduah Sarpong, to assume the position.
However, there was a vehement protest from the other faction of kingmakers, with claims that the nominee did not belong to a royal family.
Consequently, the Asante Traditional Council constituted a committee to probe the allegation.
The Asantehene and the Committee found that
You’ve made the Police so impactful – Asantehene praises IGP Dampare
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu has commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare for enhancing the outlook and public perception of the Police Service.
According to Otumfuo, measures put in place by the IGP since he assumed office have so endeared the Police to the public much more than existed in the past.
“I want to commend you for the good work you’re doing with your team since you came to the scene. Now, we feel the Police in our lives, our homes and everywhere and we are grateful”.
Commenting on security in the Ashanti region during the Christmas festivities, the Asantehene said he was marvelled by the number of motorbikes that patrolled the region and Kumasi in particular to ensure the safety of residents.
“I was here when they came to show me videos of the number of officers patrolling the city on motorbikes and it was beautiful. Because of your work, we didn’t see robberies and the number of carnage we used to see on our roads during Christmas, please continue the work because we are praying for you”.
Otumfuo also advised the IGP not to allow the office and its challenges to change his personality.
Dr. Akuffo Dampare who is currently on a working tour of the Ashanti region, expressed his gratitude to Otumfuo and assured him the police will continue to work to ensure the safety of the public.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has charged the Inspector General of Police to ensure a peaceful conduct of the 2024 General Election on December 7.
The Police Management Board, led by Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene at the Manhyia Palace as part of a New Year engagement exercise with some stakeholders in the Ashanti Region.
While encouraging the police to maintain its visibility operations, the Asantehene admonished the IGP to ensure a peaceful election in December.
