Congratulations!!! Well done! [email protected] GOLDEN TICKET GANG! ⚡️🎫 I’m so incredibly proud of this man and all the hard work he’s done to get to where he is today! 3.5 years of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears (mostly mine 🤪) and as of today, he’s officially a Journeyman Lineman!!! It’s been a crazy roller coaster of a ride with lots of sacrifice, but we stuck together through it all! Congratulations babe!!! MFJL!!! ⚡️🥳

Welcome back to our hardworking linemen who spent 10 days restoring power around Fort Meyers, Florida, in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Glowing words of thanks from residents there made it back to us even before the crew did!

We're so proud of Billy Kirk, Bradley Mullis, Slade Walker, Hunter Hawkins, Brandon Harpe and Josh Cowart, and we're sure their families were glad to have them home.

RIP Brother. 🙏 Posted • Wallace Melton, Jr., 58, line servicer, Kentucky Power, was fatally injured in a vehicle event while working in the Hazard, Kentucky area. The event happened in the early morning hours on Thursday, June 23 while he was responding to an outage.
“Please keep Wallace’s wife and children in your thoughts and prayers as we grieve along with them,” said Brett Mattison, president, chief operating officer, Kentucky Power. “Wallace was a valued member of the Kentucky Power team for 38 years and our team here is heartbroken over his loss."
Wallace joined the company in 1983 and worked out of the Hazard Service Center. He is survived by his children and his wife, Crystal.

If you are sitting in an air conditioned house remember to thank a Lineman. If you are waiting for your power to be restored, remember to thank a Lineman. Please remember that there are men- husbands, fathers and sons who are trying their best to restore your power as safely and as quickly as possible. It takes a tremendous amount of hard work from these men (and women) and their crews to maintain the power grid. Some of them will be working in the hot sun for hours on end......could you do that? There are many people in this job field who put in the long hours and effort to restore power. In this career, it’s not just 9am to 5pm….it’s for as long as it takes to get the job done. They are amazing men, but they are only human. Please be patient and considerate towards them and appreciate this reminder--Your Power Does Not Come Easy. There are sadly lives that have been lost in their career field. Blood sweat and tears that are selflessly committed, time (as in being called out at 3am or in the middle of family barbecues, birthdays, holidays) that these men dedicate to restore your power. Working with high voltage, one rarely gets a second chance to make a mistake. Remember that. Oh and by the way--While our husbands are out busting their backs to restore power, we as families waiting for them to return home also lose our power at times too, and we wait patiently.......and we pay the same bills as you do.
So the next time your power goes out instead of posting rude insensitive, immature rants, how about stop and say a little prayer for safety and endurance for these men who put their lives on the line so that you can simply have ice in your sweet tea on these hot summer days.

Back three years ago, I visited the tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington,Virginia. While there, I attended the changing of the guard ceremony and snapped a picture of one the sentinels. Fast forward to Memorial Day 2020 when I posted that picture on the Linetalkers Instagram page - By chance, that particular soldier saw and commented on that picture. Kim and I recently had the privilege to speak to Sgt Chris Seaman, a member of the Old Guard, the elite unit of the United States Army tasked to guard the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery. The coveted Tomb Badge is the least awarded badge awarded in the Army and our guest today achieved this great honor. Although he was told "no" several times as he pursued his dream, he held his course and worked very hard until he was given the opportunity to get into this noble assignment. Even after all of the hard work and dedication, he repeatedly downplayed this great feat and redirected us to where the true sacrifice lies, the Unknowns. Walk with us on this journey up the hill at Arlington to the Tomb of the Unknowns where we get a glimpse inside a 26 hour day from one of the sentinels that protects these great American treasures,
